Williams-Sonoma, Corte Madera. All for supporting local businesses, but...
Was enjoying the Marin weather and stopped by the Corte Madera Williams-Sonoma today. Arrived home with two broken plates in a set of 12. They had a single flat sheet of paper between them (see photo). I went back to the store to get them replaced and the store manager immediately claimed I was lying about the way they were wrapped. Manager was very rude and also made several other false claims trying to prove it was my fault instead of just replacing two plates that are worth a less than $30.
I was shocked at the confrontational attitude of the manager and two sales associates for such a trivial issue. This is the reason many brick and mortar establishments are failing. Poor customer service and horrible attitudes in an era where people don't have to deal with any of that online.
Just bought the replacements on Williams-Sonoma's website. Don't think I will ever go back...
Read moreI've been a Williams Sonoma customer for a long time. I have never had a bad experience till now. Walked in to buy a quick gift. Found what I like and ready to purchase it. Was informed 1 item I picked up was a on table (not behind a display case...) and they can't sell it to me. They don't have any more in the store. Sales associate asks a person who seemed to be a manager. I questioned why i couldn't purchase the item and the 'manager' got snarky. Then 'graciously' allows me to purchase the item as she proceeds to talk behind my back with another customer. Seriously?? How about putting the customer first! It's a retail store with the intention of selling the items. Sell the item and if you need to, order one for the store display. Prioritizing the store display over a customer is crazy and suggests they don't value my business. The entire store is a display. How do you know what you can buy vs....
Read moreToday, I went to the store around 5 pm to pick up a few items. While browsing, an older woman at the register kindly offered to assist me, which was appreciated. As I was looking at knives, a man greeted me in a somewhat abrupt manner, making me feel a bit uncomfortable. Despite my friendly wave, he quickly backed off. It’s frustrating when I can’t even browse in peace without interruptions. Additionally, I could hear what sounded like a baby or a dog in the back of the store, which seemed odd. Then, another enthusiastic staff member made a strange comment while I waited for my purchases to be scanned. Overall, I found the staff’s behavior to be odd and unprofessional. While it’s good to have assistance available when needed, constant interruptions detract from the...
