Yesterday we ate at Yuca and were blown away by their flavors. I believe Yuca was the second of the this owners two restaurants. We figured if Yuca was the second that Cedar would be even better.
It had the same feel when we walked in as their other restaurant did as it was clean, open and pretty. I was excited to try their food and we started with their guacamole. It was amazing and the chips are freshly made and salted well! If you don't have a great love of salt, as I do, then I would ask for lite salt.
He ordered the fat Zach. It's one of those things where we could tell the flavors were on point but we ordered wrong. He didn't like how much corn flavor the tortilla hAd..lol silly, I know, but he thought the corn overtook the other flavors. I had a couple bites and it was very flavorful...
I ordered the burger.. i forgot to take pics of the menu and it's changed since the website menu... but I think it was described as a blackened burger with shrimp and sausage gravy on top and aioli spread. They were awesome to put both on the side as my husband won't eat shrimp and I'm not a fan of aioli. Everything was flavorful and very good with the burger!! I LOVE their fries as they are so flavorful you really don't want to use ketchup.
Oh and the bathrooms...
Read moreIt started out as a five star experience. Let me start out by saying, the staff is very nice and attentive. As someone who has lived a block from this place and has frequented this place when this used to be a hole in the wall bar, me and my wife we’re appreciating how nice the place looked while we are waiting for our table. My first issue was when I went to the restroom before we got our table. The water tap in the sink is so close to the sink, you can’t fit your hands under the tap to wash them. It is so weird. And then we were sat in not the main area but in the area that is slightly elevated area. So this part of the review is only in reference to that area and not the main area. That place is so loud, you can barely hear anything. And staff is aware of it. And the food was mediocre at best. Most of the food has no flavor except charizo. Charizo has too much flavors in it. I’m not saying spicy. It’s like they took multiple spices and mixed it with charizo without measuring it. It was overwhelming. Coffee was OKAY. Jamaican curry was OKAY. The filet in filet and eggs was actually not filet it’s just piece of over cooked meat with no flavor. Thank god for the chimichurri that comes with it. The Hangover was okay at best. Overall it’s a very...
Read moreWas time for lunch today and we were in Main Strauss area so we were headed for pizza. Parked in the pay lot and changed our mind to try Cedar. We, my son, his friend, and I, walked in from the jobsite, (construction), and knew we may have come in to the wrong place by the puzzled looks on the faces of the other patrons. We didn't know anything about the place at all other than they had food. We sat at the bar and met Alex D! She didn't skip a beat and had glasses of water up for us and was telling us about the menu. She told us her favorites and explained everything! She got our drinks and menus. I had the Cedar Burger and the boys had the Chicken and Waffles. The burger was great! Very juicy, bun was not heavy, egg and other toppings were awesome! Fries were fresh and hot. I barely finished my meal. The boys liked the spiciness of the chicken paired with the sweetness of the waffle and bacon crumbs! It ended being too much for both of them! The unique menu will have me returning with my wife on a weekend to check it out further. The rest of the employees were great and the prices were very reasonable! Definitely...
