Stoney’s Etc! — Attraction in Covington

My encounter with Stoney's wasn't as favorable as I'd hoped. After taking several portraits to be framed as a gift for my mother the photos were framed so that they could only be hung, not displayed upright sitting on a mantle. When my mother asked why the photos were framed this way, the proprietor said that it was my responsibility to specify at the time of purchase. This is quite stupid for two reasons:

1. Family photos are typically displayed sitting on mantles, bookshelves, etc.
2. The business owner should have enquired at the time of purchase, blaming the customer is absurd.

The owner said she would have to order the parts and charged us an extra $20. I don't really care about the money, but does she not have the parts on hand already? Is this a frame shop or not?

My recommendation to others is - as much as you may want to support a charming local business, just go to one of the chains instead, they're more professional and they won't have to take another week ordering parts that any frame shop should...

I saw Stoney's Village on the news ,so I Immediately sent $75.00 and asked her to send me back pictures of what she purchased, this was on a Friday 12/4/20.

When I saw the transaction went thur I was waiting to receive pictures of the toys. I wanted her to buy at least 2 toys with $75.00. When I didn't hear back I drove to her store the following Tuesday to see.what she had gotten.

She explained to me she was changing the way she was doing things. In the beginning you pick kids off a tree and purchase something for them, which is what I thought I was sponsoring.

She did send me a picture and I could see she kept most of the money because she didn't buy $75.90 worth of items for ...

I stopped in originally since I have walked past this store so many times and have never been in. I finally decided to stop in. What initially drew me in was the cute outside. When I walked in, the storeowner, Stoney, greeted me warmly. She has a great collection of toys for the little ones and board games for all ages, but one thing I was surprised by were her paintings. I struck up a conversation with Stoney. She is sweet and felt like a kindred spirit. I wish more people were aware of her artwork since her watercolor paintings are beautiful.
