We came here after looking at the local fare(which is a lot, by the way... you definitely have options on that street and the ones nearby) and decided on this place because pub and also I've never tried a place that specialized in British cuisine.
The place looked amazing, with a great atmosphere, but it was quite busy, and I think they were a bit understaffed. It took the better part of 15 min just to see our waitress, and that was one of the times we saw her. Once to take our order that we'd had plenty of time to figure out while we were waiting, once to take another drink order, and once when the food was brought out incorrect. Only slightly, sauce was directly on the burger instead of the side. Understandable.
The part that sucks was that it seemed like every other table saw her several times, but perhaps we were just in a bad part of the pub for servers to notice us? I'm not sure.
Service aside, the food was AMAZING. the fish and chips were fresh and delicious, and the Brit Burger was mind-blowing good. Definitely recommend. Banger dip was okay, but the chips were the real star of the show there.
Would visit again for the food, but only if we're able to sit in closer proximity to the bar and maybe at a less busy...
Read moreCame to your establishment on Friday with my family and friend for his 55th birthday, beer great but the red headed bar tender needs to learn some manners!!! I asked for a beer and was told it would be a minute, I responded fine going to bathroom be back shortly. Returned to him finishing up with a group of people, stood there while he proceeded to skip over me and wait on another group of 6 or so people, one of them was an employee.Overheard two guys talking, and one said I did not know you worked here,so I still stood there while he waited on about 4 or 5 of them. I finally asked the red headed bar tender, who just got back from Ireland, if he was ever going to get me my beer, that I was there before the group of people he was waiting on, he then YELLED at me"NO I AM NOT GOING TO GET YOU A BEER, YOU DID NOT TIP ME VERY WELL" he yelled that at me across the bar in front of everyone. I did not pay the bill the first time, so I did not give him a small tip to begin with. If this is the type of people you chose to employee at your establishment, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!! He is a bartender "NEVER EVER YELL AT THE PATRONS".... first thing you learn as a...
Read moreWhile staying in the Cincinnati area I decided to try the Cock and Bull Public House in the Mainstrasse area of Covington Kentucky. This area has quite a few locally owned restaurants and bar like establishments. I was able to get a seat at the bar in front of a large TV as the major-league baseball homerun derby was about to start. The bartender was knowledgeable with the assortment of roughly 14 or 15 beers on tap, and helped me choose a good local beer. I started with the Caprese bruschetta as an appetizer which was light and delicious. They are known for their fish and chips and offer three different serving sizes. Since I had an appetizer, I went with the smallest portion of 4 ounces of fish. They offer an 8 ounce and a 12 ounce serving. The fish lived up to the hype. It looked to have a Panko breading which made it extra crispy. It went along with a housemaid tartar sauce perfectly. Back in January 2012 I was able to visit London and had fish and chips there. If I had to choose between the two I would take the one from here. There's also tables outs along the sidewalk and then across the street in a grassy area which people...
