My friend has a service dog, a certified service dog. Not one for emotional support, but for medical reasons. As soon as we walked in the door, the bartender rudely said we needed to show her papers for the dog proving his certification. My friend explained that it is not required to show papers for a service dog, but the bartender got even nastier and argued with her that it is required. My friend went back outside and I continued to use their ATM. The bartender and a couple patrons continued to make rude comments about her and her service dog (which, by the way, had a service dog vest on identifying him.) According to the ADA “it prohibits cities, merchants and others from requiring proof that a dog is a service dog. They are not allowed to require any type of identification or certification documents for the dog. Refusing service and/or being rude to a service dog and handler is not only unprofessional behavior, but it is illegal at both state and federal levels.” This bartender was not only rude, but refused service. If you are going to run an establishment, you had better be well informed in all rules and regulations in regards to all matters of things or you’re going to end up with a lawsuit...
Read moreMy sister was celebrating a milestone in her career today with some family and friends. We just walked in, went straight to the bar to order a round of drinks. A man who who clearly had been there for some time got upset that we were standing at the bar in his way of the TV, so much so that he blew cigarette smoke directly into my little sister's hair multiple times and started yelling at us to move. The rest of the regulars there chimed in and were completely out of line. Especially considering we were just ordering drinks quickly and heading upstairs. The bartenders did nothing to intervene except tell us to go upstairs as if we were in the wrong for simply ordering a round of drinks. What was supposed to be a celebratory night which would have brought a great deal of business turned into us giving our business to another establishment that made us feel welcome. I have never had such a horrible experience. All of the other bars in the Covington area are so inviting. I will never be back to the...
Read moreThe bartenders here are one of a kind and give top notch service to all customers! My girlfriends and I came here on a Saturday and took a seat at the bar. This obviously intoxicated man came over, offered to buy us all a drink, and then proceeded to talk with us. We are a pretty relaxed group so we were being polite, entertaining conversation, but then started to feel very uncomfortable as this man starting trying to place his arm around us and getting super close in our faces.
The male bartender had his eye on this guy the whole time and when he saw this, he politely stepped in and grabbed the guys attention by saying he wanted to show him his bar tab and maybe the guy should ease back. After that, the bartender made it a point to ensure we were comfortable and nothing was wrong! This made me feel safe and like the employees really care about the patrons in their bar. Needless to say, we gave this man a hefty tip for being a genuinely great person...
