El Rincon mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Covington

Went here on a date on a Saturday night after some of the trucks at the taco and margarita festival down the road ran out of food. We were very hot and hungry. Was told it'd be a 30-40 minute wait. We gave our name and phone number and sat outside waiting on the patio in the heat. After over 40 minutes I went inside to check how much longer it would be, and was told their kitchen had closed and they would be drinks only for the rest of the night (it was about 8:30 when we got there-9:20 at this point). I was pretty upset they hadn't notified us that the kitchen was going to close and left us just sitting outside waiting on a table for so long. If I hadn't gone in to check, who knows if they would've ever even told us. There were several other patrons on the wait list that were unaware the kitchen had...

We walked over to try out El Rincon Mexican Restaurant as I was craving authentic Mexican food. We were greeted and seated very quickly outside and the waitress brought us free chips and salsa within minutes. I looked at the menu and decided I wanted huevos rancheros with corn tortillas except this dish wasn’t even on the menu, but the server happily obliged my request. The food was served piping hot and it was delicious. If you happen to be near MainStrasse Village El Rincon Mexican Restaurant is three places down from the corner next to the ice cream shop. Working from out of state and found this gem. Everything was EXCELLENT!!!

Jalapeño mixed Fajitas: I typically don't order fajitas, but the photo from a prior patron sold me on the fajitas. Excellent flavor. I also asked for extra jalapeños.

Side of guacamole: very creamy and a ton of flavor.

Chips and salsa: chips were light and crispy and the salsa was packed with a lot of flavor.

Staff was nice, professional, attentive, and very polite.

Only negative part of my visit was that it was a little on the warm side in the restaurant.
