Guacamole was good and that is about it. Experience began with a very rude hostess. I was meeting a group of friends and she was just completely rude and unhelpful from the moment I said hello. I finally located my group upstairs and described the 3rd degree interrogation that I got from the hostess and they each had the same experience when they arrived. We had one more joining us and asked to move to a larger table since we were at a 4 top and there were 5 of us We were told they would move us but we had to be finished and out before 7:00 because they had a group coming. Well Allrighty then! I ordered a frozen passion fruit margarita and received a regular one on the rocks. Fine. I'll drink it no biggie. I ordered chicken on my salad and it came without. The most annoying thing was one of my friend asked for no cilantro. It did come without fresh cilantro but one of her tacos came with a sauce that had cilantro in it. When the waitress asked if everything was okay when she took her plate away my friend graciously explained why she didn't eat the 2nd taco. She asked her to please pack it for her to tale home to give to a family member. The waitress came back and said they would make her a new one with the sauce on the side. Nice but unexpected. Well the manager brought it to her and proceeded to lecture her that they put the sauce on the side and that 'we can't just remove cilantro from the sauce'. Okay understood but their waitress should have been familiar and offered an alternative, or the chef should have sent her back to ask when they saw the request for no cilantro. The manager acted like it was my friend's problem/mistake. So overall, the service was just bad. They acted as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us to eat there. Wow. We all had a good time, but it was more because of the company/friendship and despite the poor service and mistakes. We'll choose somewhere else next time we meet for dinner. Cross this one...
Read moreOn a good night, the food is pretty delicious. Unfortunately, they haven't had many good nights for me. I've probably eaten here six times over the last year, but I doubt that I will be back. The vibe can be pretentious and most of the things on the menu are just overpriced for the sake of being overpriced. They serve many drinks mixed with mezcal tequila. Their mezcal mules are super good but priced at $9. This is pretty typical drink pricing at the trendy restaurants in the area. Last visit, I drank 3/4 of a pitcher of the Frida margarita. I didn't even get a buzz. I don't even drink that often. Guess, I paid $28 for flavored water. In my first few visits to this establishment, the fish tacos and the al pastor tacos were amazing but the last 3 times that I have visited, they have been completely lackluster. Just too soggy and salty. The brussel sprout taco is super yummy, served with peanut salsa but the price charged for it is ridiculous. It's not worth the price tag. Their guacomole and queso have always been on point. The queso contains corn and has a great flavor. Overall, the service here can be spotty. Some servers are attentive while others only check on you at the end of the meal when it's too late and your beverage glass sat empty the entire meal. Our last visit, we were seated upstairs where the kitchen is located. Despite our proximity to the kitchen, our tacos was served to us cold. Our waitress never checked on us until she brought us our bill, so we were stuck with the cold soggy tacos. I was there celebrating a recent job promotion but ended up leaving there very disappointed. Again. There are so many restaurants in the tri-state area that are serving up mouth watering tacos. Next time I'm craving a taco, I will...

First of all, if you have any food allergies, don't come here. We came here because my partner has two unfortunate food allergies and we could get food here without worrying. My partner is allergic to all dairy (not just lactose) and gluten and asked for no dairy on his tacos. The waitress was kind enough to take off the cream and cotija cheese and then offered to put a sauce on the tacos, that we later found out at the end of our meal had dairy in it (al pastor sauce, which does not traditionally come with dairy in it). The manager said sorry and my husband that is too nice, did not ask for a comp even though he will be hurting for days now. This establishment needs to train their employees better or someone could end up in a hospital.
Next, I usually default to looking up google reviews to find the fan favorite food items. This time I didnt and this time I regretted it. I ordered chiles rellenos at the very top of the menu which are deliciously cheese stuffed chilis fried and smothered in enchilada sauce, but instead I received a Midwestern casserole with a sliced unstuffed chili (could have been a green pepper) on the bottom topped with a blend of rice, cream of mushroom, unseasoned chicken, zucchini, onion, and cheese on top with a side of store bought tasting red salsa. I know there are some very Midwestern tex-mex restaurants around here, but this had to be the most unauthentic and uninspired dish I have ever had in my life. Would have gone to Cracker Barrel if I wanted a casserole.
Expected so much more from such a highly rated restaurant. Giving Frida's...
