It was a beautiful Saturday. The Reds are in town. So we decided to try this place. As we walked there, several other establishments have people seated outside, eating and enjoying the day. When we got to Works, there is No One sitting outside. Seemed odd. Went inside. There were only four other people dining. This seems odd since ALL the surrounding restaurants are busy. They left and it was just us the rest of the meal. We ordered pizza and asked for half Hawaiian and one of the meat choices. One of the employees explained they have a unique high heat, rotating oven. Unfortunately, the high heat oven resulted in lots of burnt crust on the pizza. Not charred, burnt🔥. I would have sent it back, but I wasn't paying. The toppings were amazingly bland. For the Hawaiian, they used this tiny diced ham and stingy amounts of pineapple. You could barely taste a difference between the two sides. When they brought the check, there is a significant price difference between the two half toppings. There was no price adjustment. They charged the higher price as if it was a whole pie. Took leftover pizza home. Was TERRIBLE when reheated. This from my friend who eats anything. I'm not a big Larosa's fan, but I would eat there everytime before I would eat here again. And oddly, they didn't have the Reds game on. But if you looked across the street through the windows of Smoke Justis, you could...

The energy in the building is awful; you can tell how good a restaurant is by how many people eat there regularly and every time I went it was a ghost town in the dining room. Their Google hours say open until 11 but when I went in at 5 they were completely closed?
Can't say anything good about the staff either, anytime you see any of them they got their phone in their hand but you won't ever see them wash their hands or wear gloves. The kitchen staff doesn't wear hair nets or hats or aprons. The wait staff is unnecessarily rude, especially the GM, he was especially rude to us and openly aggressive to his staff.
I tried this place multiple times because it's conveniently close to where I live but I can't bother wasting my time or money here ever again....
Read moreReally excited to try the Works so I ordered via Doordash. I think I'll go in and give it a try in person because this time around didn't exactly hit the spor. If you love a tasty crispy crust, this is your jam. I prefer lots of cheese and sauce. Unfortunately, on Doordash you're sometimes limited to what you can special order and I understand that. I just wish I could have gotten extra pizza sauce on my pizzas. I paid for extra cheese on both pizzas but I am not sure if I got extra cheese. You can see for yourselves in the pictures. Perhaps I'm used to other places. The toppings were great. The bacon and sausage especially. No fatty bits of bacon like lots of pizza joints. Nice and crispy.
Again I stress possibly going in for the first time would have been the better move. With fees and tip, the order came to a little over $63.00. That's for a small three topping and a large two topping and all the Doordash fees and markup. Give it a shot. We need good pizza places...
