I had two really upsetting and disrespectful experiences at specifically the Creve Couer location Hair Saloon. I needed a new barber to trim my undercut. I am a women and a undercut requires buzz cutting a section underneath long hair that a typical salon for women wouldn’t do. The first time I called a few months ago, I asked if any of their hair dressers knew how to do an undercut. The lady who answered the phone seemed super judgemental and said “you know this is a hair saloon for MEN right?” She ended up saying she would check and call me back .. I had to remind her to take my # and name down. She never got back to me. I felt very judged and embarrassed. My interpretation was that because I was a women I am not meant there. The second time was today. I have found a place that will do my hair but they were booked… after that experience I was reluctant to call again but I did. I asked if they do undercuts and she said she had no idea what that was… 1st how do you not know? 2nd well can you ask?? I told her that I wasn’t helped last time either and that I can find somewhere else. She hung up and that was it. Honestly sooooo unacceptable , unkind , and disrespectful both times.
I am a 20year old identifying women, and I would strongly advise against contacting this place for a hair cut if you identify as a women as well. This is the first bad review I’ve ever written in my life and I personally feel that it is much deserved.
Note: hair saloon in webster is GREAT with undercuts.. Kim is great but really all the girls can do it .. they are helpful and kind people and I go there.. makes sense why they are more...
Read moreOur continuing education into the 'post-pandemic New Normal' of doing business has once again enlightened me of a new definition. Much like the term 'fast food has been redefined as drive-up', today's crash course was the new definition of the term 'walk-in'.
The two reasons for my visit to the Creve Couer location this evening: 1. it was conveniently located next to where I did my grocery shopping, & 2. I wanted a hair cut, didn't need one but wanted one.
I used to get my hair cut at Fantstic Sams but I can see this establishment took its place. Not being familiar with how things worked it looked like an appointment might be necessary to receive services but after seeing the sign through the glass front door advertising "walk-in/appointment services" I entered and waited my turn at the reception desk.
This is where I learned the new and not so improved definition of the term 'walk-in'. Walk-in now is defined as walk in to make an appointment NOT to receive services.
And apparently not all 5 barbers whose names were prominently displayed were on duty because there were no appointments available. However beside myself there was only one other customer (who had an appointment).
Thank you 'Hair Salon for Men for my continuing education into our...
Read moreI highly recommend Kristin the Barber & Hair Saloon for Men Creve Coeur West Oak. It is easy, and completely safe to say that this salon is the Cream de la Cream - the cream of the crop! I was referred by a colleague to go visit Kristin at Hair Saloon For Men - West Oak in Creve Coeur. Of course, I must say that she in no way has disappointed me. Quite frankly, this was easily the best hair cut I have ever received in my 56 years. Not only was the hair cut done professionally, the whole experience was top of the line. I have literally received a compliment on my hair every day since I walked out of those doors feeling like a new man. Like I was referred, I will continuously refer any one I know to this salon, and more specifically, Kristin. She was absolutely amazing, the salon was great, and there is not a better service around than you will receive throughout the entire St. Louis Metro area let alone the whole country. If you haven't yet, do yourself a huge favor and go visit Kristin at Hair Saloon For Men - West Oak in Creve Coeur! A visit to Stylist Kristin for a haircut at Hair Saloon - West Oak - Creve Coeur has been without question the best decision I’ve ever made....
