Because there is no corporate contact complaint line I can call.
I went into your store in Culver City and I have been buying donuts from Winchell's for over two decades, so I assumed this would be a pleasant transaction. I was helped by Maria, and I ordered the dozen donuts. I started to order and wanted to order bear claws and apple fritters, and Maria stated those weren't donuts. I asked what bear claws and apple fritters were considered if they weren't donuts. And she could not tell me. Maria stated they would be an additional cost, and I asked how much would they cost in addition to the dozen donuts. She said she didn't know. I asked Maria again, how much were the bear claws and apple fritters, since they weren't considered donuts, and she still did not answer. I asked if she could ask someone and she did not move or ask or find out the cost. I kept hearing through the ordering process what was included and I eventually had to ask what was not a donut in this donut shop, so I could hurry up and finish my order. While choosing my remaining options, another customer came in and was helped by another staff member. That customer was attempting to order, and Maria completely ignored me and was completely engaged in their conversation so much that I had to ask Maria if we could continue with my order. When I got to 12 donuts in my box, Maria closed the box and appeared to head to the register, I had to ask about my remaining 2 donuts. Then she bagged them. Another customer was attempting to pay and the other customers' bags of donuts they were purchasing were spread out all on the counter, and I was worried our items would be mixed up. The customer was asking their sales person to re-make a drink, and Maria, who was not helping that customer, ignored me and delayed in taking my payment. I finally was able to pay and she did not provide or offer me my receipt. I had to ask Maria for a bag so that I would not struggle carrying the multiple containers of donuts. This was the most frustrating and unpleasant experience I have ever had at Winchell's. To have Winchell staff not know their product, not know the pricing, and not listening or being responsive and professional or providing customer service at all. There are two other donut shops in Culver city and multiple bakeries and I chose to support Winchell's donut, but if this does not improve, I will spend my...
Read moreOkay, unfortunately I have to post a poor review of this Winchell's location. Hopefully it doesn't apply to all locations.
So here it goes: I ordered a hot sandwich from this store and the worker made multiple other orders for the customers who came in after me, who happened to be latinos. Mow usually, I am patient & tolerant of busy places as long as the process is fair. I had order number 352 and this worker made orders for other hot sandwiches up to order number 355.
So naturally I approached the counter to respectfully inquire about my order as I observed this worker continue to make more orders. When I asked about my order she responded yeah its coming and she proceeded to make my order at that moment BUT after she called order 355 to serve them.
I thought wow... no rationale, no acknowledgment, no apology, no attempt to explain why she skipped making my order. So I stated , I'd like a refund. And she hurriedly made my hot turkey sandwich and threw in in the bag and gave it to her manager (Ana) as she said in Spanish "esta lista" ( from my limited knowledge of Spanish, I believe this means "its ready"...).
The manager, Ana, attempted to ring my order up and I informed her that I am requesting a refund. Ana replied, okay. She didn't ask why or anything. She simply didn't carr about me as a customer.
I have no reason to take time out of my morning today to write this review except for this was a blatant act of disrespect, poor customer service, and one could deduce even racial discrimination since I was a he only African-American customer in the store at that time.
Additionally, I returned to the store because my "refund receipt" did not indicate that the $11.01 that I spent at this store had been refunded to my card. The manager Ana explained to me that it showed as a "voided" transaction on her "side" in the computer but not on my receipt. She stated that the money should be returned in 3 days. Still she did not inquire about my customer experience.
I guess that's the way that this crew operates at Winchell's.
I certainly will not be...

I waited for a customer before me take and have his order prepared. The service lady took notice and asked about my order and was about to prepare. She noticed a man come in with his son and immediately took his order and started flirting and the same time summoning a co-worker to make the rest of his order, it appeared to be a repeat customer. I was completely disregarded and she, said, "oh yeah I will be right with you".
I understand when someone is flirting, I understand when someone is downright ignoring you. This was bad ...really bad customer service. I was put over and the cash, register. She did not even get someone to help with my order if she felt overwhelmed or felt the need to take a repeat customer so they don't get out of hand. But a new customer should always be helped no matter what. There is a thing called wait in...
