I’ve been using a GoPro for 3 years now for safety and security purposes, and I’ve never had any restaurant or business tell me to turn it off. A restaurant or business can say whatever they want to a catering company that places orders with them, regardless if it’s true or not. I need proof on my end that I am picking up all the food that is given to me. There’s been times where I’ve asked a restaurant “is this everything” and they tell me “yes” and they end up forgetting something then try and tell my catering company that they gave me the item they never gave me, and the footage doesn’t lie. And if I’d just go ask them for the footage, they’re financially obligated to not provide it to me to protect their image and likeness. And for catering orders it’s not as simple as “checking the receipt” because a lot of restaurants will have catering packages labeled as “1 item” that will come with 4 different containers. In these situations, I’m not able to verify every single item that comes with that one package. This puts my job and livelihood at risk, which is why I record. I entered Culver City Cuisine for the first (and last) time attempting to pick up a catering order. After going through their egregious process of filling out an intake form (like I was there for a doctor’s appointment), the gentlemen at the front counter instructed me to turn off my GoPro. He informed me it was “illegal” for me to be recording, which isn’t true under current California or federal law. This company should really educate their employees better on what common laws are regarding small businesses. I ended up refused to turn it off, and I asked him specifically if he wanted me to leave which he did not answer, but instead went and got my catering order that I picked up and delivered. Luckily, I won’t have to try hard to avoid this place, as I never plan on working in that...
Read moreWhat a great concept! We visited here based on a recommendation for Krapow and were a little perplexed on arrival. Basically, it’s like a warehouse which multiple kitchens (restaurants) share space in, but there is no direct contact or connections (seating, front-end staff, etc.) with your chosen provider, thereby cutting overhead costs.
If you order online (or are a delivery driver picking up online orders) your food will be available for pickup in numbered lockers. If you’re a walk-in, you’ll order from a large touchscreen, and wait for your food to get prepared, but be ready for a plethora of choices!
There were a couple super-friendly guys working the front counter who explained the process to us, since we were noobs, but it was super simple. They have everything from Mexican to Asian to American to GF, Vegan, and Fusion options. We were amazed at the variety of choices and combinations!
We ordered a variety of meals, all from different kitchens/vendors, and all of it was ready quickly and tasted amazing! It was definitely worth the trip for us and we’ll be returning soon to try...
Read moreThis is a very convenient "ghost kitchen" to order food for pickup or delivery. You can order through various food service apps like GrubHub and Uber eats, as well as through their dedicated Culver cuisine website. We've ordered food from Chilaquiles & Beyond (delish!), Union pizza (yum deep dish!), Moonbowls (Korean), Brady's bakery (cookies), and even Starbucks, with all positive experiences. The only negative experience I had was with 5 Elementos. I got the Elementos fries, and they were, under cooked, soggy and gross.
We also had an issue once with delivery when they were switching to Coco, and we never got our food. Since it was the weekend, I went in person to let them know, they took down my information, then called me during the week, and provided a refund. The resolution was fairly easy and quick.
Overall this is an easy place to get food quickly and with a large selection. Definitely recommend you check it out...
