The service here is outstanding, with a friendly helpful outgoing staff. I not recall ever have any experience here that was anything less than positive this staff has always been second to none. The management and ownership should be given credit for their part in maintaining such a consistent level of excellence. Between is very good it's always fresh and never seems like it has been sitting or tastes "old". That being said, the last several times I've ordered food from Roy Rogers I've gotten the 16pc chicken family meal. Without a doubt it is among the best fried Chicken from a restaurant fast food or otherwise. The fast food restaurant with a state in its name doesn't even come close. The only other fast food place that is even comparable is named after a cartoon character but Roy Rogers still trounces it. The only place I can ever remember getting a fried chicken wing that was not just breaded skin, you actually could be eat it, was at Roy Rogers. Not to mention that for the money you will be hard-pressed to find a better value when it comes to it's chicken dinner for the family. The other places that offer chicken give you an eight-piece meal with a couple sides and a couple biscuits for about the same price that you get a 16-piece meal with three large sides and eight biscuits here and that's not even comparing how much more chicken is on each piece, or the sides that are not in the same class by a long shot. The sides from most places tastes like what you would expect: instant, from a can, or something just thrown together as an afterthought. Whereas all of the side dishes from Roy Rogers genuinely seem homemade. I never realized there was such a difference even comparing supermarkets that offer fried chicken. Roy Rogers beats them all easily. The only negative that I can think of is that now if anybody gets chicken from anywhere else it is a disappointment because the food here is so consistently good. This is the only location I've gotten food from in quite some time. I would have to think that all of the restaurants are comparable but being that I generally don't eat fast food, really ever I can't compare this restaurant to any others within the chain. But I do have to say that if the other locations were half as good, and as clean with such an exemplary crew as this one I would have zero reservations about...
Read moreI kind of known Roy Rogers as a regional fast-food chain mostly around Maryland and I am glad I finally got a chance to stop at one. Overall the store is very clean and well-kept and the "Fixins Bar" is well-maintained. The service was also good with quick service and pleasant team members at the counter as well. Speaking of the "Fixins Bar," your sandwiches come with the meat, bun (and sometimes cheese); everything else you have to top your sandwich with. They have a great chose as well, your normal "LTO" and condiments but also some banana peppers and other interesting toppings as well. The roast beef I had was pretty good and I like that it is just the roast beef and cheese and I get to choose what else goes on it, lets me put the only other thing I usually want on the sandwich some horseradish. However, for the price I would like to see a little more roast beef on the sandwich. The beef was nice and fresh and bun held up well, just want more roast beef. The fries were very fresh and not greasy at all. I very much enjoyed the flavor of the fries and am happy that they actually have cups big enough to dip the fries in condiments. The fact that I can customize my sandwich with what I like is a big plus here; not just the roast beef but also the burgers and chicken sandwiches they carry as well. I would very much like to try their burgers, just wish they had a couple locations in Delaware as I don't go into Maryland...
Read moreRoy Rogers Cumberland MD I myself and additional party of 7 went for breakfast today (Friday). This was one of the worst visits I ever had.. Our food was cold, people were waiting in a very long line and food was being served out of order so that people standing there was being passed over. The servers were bumping into each other , none of them knew what they were doing. I watched a platter of food sit there all three times I had to go back to the counter. for the rest of my food that I had to stand and wait on.The pancakes tasted awful , my grandchildren wouldn't eat them. Many people were furious and left saying their food sat along time and was cold.. My order was one of the first , the food was given to people a little at a time. Several servers didn't even know what order they were working on and even that customers weren't getting their food. There also was and advertisement that stated today pancakes were a $1.99 all you could eat and Roy Rogers said they weren't having this special?. We spent over $55.00 and by the time I got to eat it was so cold I threw it away. I saw families asking for their food or wanting their money back. Had I not had my grandchildren with me, I would of requested my money back. Not sure I can go...
