Strictly okay food. The concepts are quite decent - execution… severely lacking.
Service - beyond horrendous. My wife planned a family dinner for my 40th birthday. Our server couldn’t have been any less interested. The second we sat down, she stormed over - ‘are you ready to order?’ I politely said we needed a few minutes. 90 seconds later she was back. While my kids were expressing how excited they were to pick this place, she interrupted them with another - order now?
Out of agitation we ordered a couple drinks and some small plates. Then we waited 20 minutes for these… in which time, she came by thrice to ask if our food and drinks had come out. 1. Do you see anything on the table? 2. Shouldn’t YOU know??? We said no it hadn’t… to which she questioned us - ‘are you sure it hasn’t come out?’ What gives???? You think I chugged my rum based drink, the gol gappa surprise, and the grilled paneer and pocketed the glass and the plates?
The stupidity and rushing continued throughout dinner. At one point we gave up trying to have a good time.
While we were barely mid-way through dinner, she started asking if we were ready for dessert. At this point, I had run out of patience and told her bluntly to stop asking, and that we would let her know when we were ready. Once we were getting close to finishing dinner, my wife got up to ask them to bring out the surprise dessert she had planned for.
While my wife was in the bathroom, she came out and asked me if I was ready for the surprise dessert??? Seriously???? Do you not understand the concept of a surprise?
Anyway… we had the cheesecake (which was nothing like a cheesecake) m, and she come over, just put the card machine on the table and just left. No words, nothing. I paid (with an abysmal tip that I felt uncomfortable but compelled to leave). She was at the front counter - and I asked to speak to the manager to fix him feedback.
She called the manager - and stood there - snooping! The entire time that I was talking to the manager. The saddest part was that neither her nor the manager were in the least bit bothered by the feedback I was providing.
My wife asked me what I wished for when I blew out the candle. My only wish is that she finds her calling in life - because being in the service industry -...
Read moreWe had dinner at the restuarant with friends and the experience overall was not good. I would not recommend this place.
Food: We had Gol Gappa Surpise, Set Dosa with Jack Fruit Ghee Roast, and Palak Anjeer ki tikki for appertizers. We ordered Makhamali Kofta, Butter Chicken, Goan Fish Curry with Garlic naan. Rasmalai Tres Leche for dessert.
The only good ones among these were the Tikki, Kofta, and Garlic Naan. If you somehow end up at this restuarant without doing any research, order these and you will be okay. Gol Gappa Surprise is a waste of money. There is nothing unique about it except for the initial presentation. The green balls on top of store bought gol gappa did nothing for the flavor. Set Dosa with Jack Fruit was dissapointing as well. It was bland and had no flavor of ghee or anything else. Even the tikki was bland but better than others. Kofta was decent. Butter chicken is average. Goan fish curry had a strong smell and a bitter after taste, would not recommend. Tres Leches cake was quite dysmal. It was not soaked all the way through the cake and the cake seemed store bought kind. Do not order this.
Service: Lady (either manager or owner) who served us was quite unprofessional. Interrupted and rushed us repeatedly during the whole time we were there. She kep asking us for our order within 5 mins of sitting down, not just drinks but the whole order saying kitchen is rushed. It was 7:30!! Multiple check ins while eating and talking, asking if the food is good. The servers kept taking our plates while we were eating. I had to grab my food while they are holding the plate in the air. The lady eventually asked us to move out as the next reservation is waiting. We were there for 90 mins for 3 courses. In all fairness, our party was seated within 10 mins of reservation time so should not make a big difference. I felt the whole thing is being run on the principle of maximizing profit rather than providing a good service.
All this came with mandatory 18% gratuity.
Later we realized it was the same place as SpiceKlub. We had dined there as well and had a very similar experience with service and food. I believe it is just rebranded and run similarly.
There are way better restaurants in this area. Don't waste your money...
