We were very excited to try out this restaurant. Too bad the service didn’t match the great decor and delicious food.
We were seated and left for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. The restaurant was not busy and appeared to be well staffed. The host/server who took our drink order didn’t introduce her self at all. She took our food order as well since we had sat long enough to decided.
My 17 year old som ordered a soda. It was brought to him in a child size cup. We just assumed that was the style of drink ware they used. He finished his drink quickly of course. We still were not sure who our server was. So I asked the bar tender if he could get another soda and he apologized for us waiting and gave us an adult size cup.
When our food arrived it was hot and presentation was great. We asked for another round of beers. Normally your server checks on you. I had a question about order and had to flag down another server. It took us about 30 minutes to eat and enjoy our family time. No one ever came back to check on.
Who we thought might be the waitress finally showed back up and we asked for our check. She then asked if we wanted another beer. We said “well not anymore”.
She brought us our check and didn’t say thank you or anything. Even though we were not happy with that service we were polite to everyone we spoke too. Maybe we shouldn’t have been.
We also noticed while sitting there 3 groups of people were seated and left after a short period of time. Maybe we should have...
Read moreCame to Chet’s today 12/25. Not many dining options on Xmas day and reviews were pretty decent for this place. I just came to meet my friend for a drink. I ordered a margarita. The server was very pleasant and personable. They had a specific christmas menu with odd pricing $30.01 for fish and chips. Firstly why so expensive for fish and chips and why the 0.1c? Where does the odd number come from? (You don’t typically see that at other places. You will see other prices through the menu that are oddly priced) My 1 margarita was $19.90. That included a mandatory 20% gratuity. I wasn’t told about the mandatory gratuity which I found odd. After I got the bill I noticed it on the Christmas menu but margaritas aren’t on the Christmas menu - they are on the drink menu which doesn’t call out 20% gratuity. The margarita was definitely a margarita mix. It was not made fresh behind bar. I couldn’t finish it as it was that bad. I didn’t have the heart to tell the server because she spoke about how proud she was of her daughter who happened to be the bar tender. My friend ordered crab cakes (portion of 2) and 1 old fashioned and it was nearly $50. Not sure what type of restaurant they think they are but definetly not worth it. Avoid at all costs. Maybe cos it’s Xmas day, they are price gauging? Right after I went to Vidorra 10 mins and margaritas were $5. No brainer on where to go when in Dallas. Chets ain’t it for more...
Read moreI will start with the positive the food and atmosphere were fine. I choose to eat here instead of being ripped off at the airport. The prices were fine.
Now for the bad. Holy cow the service I had was horrible!! I stopped there around 2:00 PM hoping for quick in and out. The place was not busy considering time. The young waitress took my order, a pretzel and a Cajun chicken sandwich. I waited for what seemed to be a pretty reasonable to time for the pretzel to come out. My waitress was nowhere to be found so I flagged down someone else to check on my order. He told me it would be coming out soon. The waitress finally showed up and asked me if I needed anything I politely replied my food would be great. Come to find out, she took my order and never put it in to the system. She then tells me,"sorry, it's going to be a while because a table of 10 had come in and backed up the kitchen. The person who checked on my order came over and said he had put a rush on it. She offered me a free dessert and I declined because I had to get to the airport. The food finally came out and I had to ask her for silverware. Not sure if it was her first day or not, but pretty ridiculous. Since she was going to give me a free dessert and I declined I thought they might take a little off my order. Nope, I paid full price. Thank...
