A disabled friend and I went to lunch at the Chili's on Preston near LBJ today and experienced the worst service I have had in many years. There was no greeter at the door. We waited several minutes until someone showed up and, when we asked to be seated in a quiet area with tables, he told us it wouldn't be open for 10 or 15 minutes if we'd like to wait. No, thanks, we said. He pointed us at a table in the bar, directly in front of the entrance and we sat down. My friend uses a walked and no attempt was made by anyone other than this 80 year old woman to help him fold it up and store it. I had to look for an empoyee and ask him to put it out of the way. I helped us to menus from the nearby greeter's station and we waited several more minutes for someone to take our orders. When they brought them (pretty quickly), the server stood at the side of the table and set them all down together, 3 glasses full of cold drinks, a big plates and one tray. They also unloaded two little paper bags of serving pieces and straws, one for each of us. Then they left us untended for 20 mintes or so while we ate. (The food was pretty darn good.) My friend needed to make a bathroom visit before we left and I fetched his walker and unfolded it for him. He was gone quite a while and let me know when he returned that the handicap bathroom was out of service. When I told the erstwhile greeter, he said, Oh, yes, I know. Your friend has already told us. I let the manager know. The bill had been delivered via a little computer on the table. I couldn't leave a 0 tip, so I left a 25 cent tip, thinking that might get someone's attention. We asked for a go box, which was delivered to me several minutes later. Then we had to ask for lids for containers for pico de gallo and guacamole. Another trip to the hinterlands to fetch that. And a large cup with a lid that we poured the tomato sauce into. And one more trip for a bag to carry all thesse pieces. They never came back with the bag. I juggled the three containers out to the car. I shamed the host guy into opening the large double doors so my friend could walk through but as soon as I cleared the first set, the door guy disappeared, leaving me to open the outside doors for the two of us. There is no curb cut to the side parking lot at Chili's, so the two of us maneuvered the walker across that. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but you get the picture. Please don't patronize Chili's. At least not this one. I will be posting this account on Chili's facebook page where I'm sure all is sweetness and light. PS. The quesaillas...
Read moreI came here yesterday evening and what an awful experience, I came with my son and we came to get him a dinner I just got salsa and chips and a soup and salad. It took an hour for this, in the beginning I ordered and they brought out my salsa and chips right away and my soup, which was odd because that typically comes with the meal, anyways the waitress then says someone else will be helping us, we wait, and wait, and wait, 20 minutes later the waiter says your salads about to come out in just two minutes, and we wait again, 10 minutes later he brings me a salad that was only lettuce and cheese in a soup bowl, meanwhile my sons meal wasn't there, it was comical, it looked like something someone threw together cause they didn't know what to do, lol I took a picture of it I will post, then we wait and wait, 15 minutes later my sons 3 chicken tenders come out, the waiter says the manager is going to talk to us, I assume to apologize, but of course he never comes over, I then get the check and it is double what we ordered, it took the waiter another 10 minutes to correct it, and then the manager comes over and says sorry about the check, not all that had happened but the check, very disengaged staff and management, every other Chili's I go to is fine and why, why does this sort of thing only happen here, BRINKER fix it, they know there is a problem, it baffles me they let this go on. Not to mention, the reason we go here is so my son can have the Lava Cake, which we couldn't get because there is no telling how long that would've taken and it had been an hour, BRINKER YOU KNOW THIS IS GOING ON THERE FIX IT, me and my son love Chili's and this is such a disappointment. I wish Wyman Roberts would go on undercover boss...
Read moreThis has to be one of the worst Chili's that I have ever been to. The quality here used to be outstanding as one of the headquarters is located across the street and they always kept incredible people on staff because of that. Needless to say, that is not the case anymore. I just got through driving up there to return the food we had bought. I purchased shrimp tacos and upon opening the box, the shrimp were still partially clear. Way undercooked which when dealing with shellfish, is completely unacceptable. ALL of the avocado slices had heavy brown across them. I eat avocados a lot and some light brown is fine and really doesn't bother me but this was horrible. How anyone could let food of that quality leave their kitchen is beyond me. The order of fried pickles was extremely small and it tasted like they accidentally dumped the whole bottle of salt on them. If you are looking for a Chili's in this area, I highly recommend that you go to the location at 35/Northwest Hwy. The quality of food at that location is insanely better. I had a horrible experience at the 635/Preston location last time but figured it was a one time thing so I decided to try again since it is closer to my house. NEVER AGAIN. I will drive the extra distance from now on. You have...
