Came here to celebrate my niece's bday and it was a pleasant surprise. The place is a bit back from the street. If it hadn't of been for the big sign by the street we would of missed it. The inside has a semi-dark ambiance that's nice and cozy. Two eating areas share a double sideded fire place, a large one is in the back part of the restaurant and then they have the bar area with a large portrait of Panch Villa. I loves the music that was playing (different genres of Mexican music). The wait staff was very attentive and quick on their feet. It was the bst service I've had in a long while! The food was amazing. So many different flavors that I had never had before. It's spices and flavors that come from different regions of Mexico that I'm not regularly exposed to. It's more central Mexico style. It was a nice change. We also ordered their award winning Margarita. It was worth the price! You only need one to get a buzz! We were blissfully delighted by the end of our meal! We already want to come back! LOL That patio looked very nice, maybe when the weather gets warmer we can try it out.

Excellent restaurant I've been passing by several times that I haven't looked into until pulling it up on Google maps. With a rating over a 4.0, great reviews, and pictures of their dishes are sure to trigger an appetite, I figured it's time to give this place a try! My mom and I went the Sunday before labor day, were told it was going to be a 25min wait, but we're seated in ten minutes. I love the dim atmosphere and the decor, it is very nice. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was spectacular! Excellent authentic chips and salsa was enough to get carried away with, but had to save room for their award winning Desperados homemade chicken tacos and a side of refried beans! I'm really a fan of corn tortillas, but the way these flour tortillas are prepared gives these tacos an amazing bite, and they're so good! My mom did enjoy her steak fajitas, which I could smell from across the table. I will definitely return and would love to be your new regulars!

We are, as a family, still in search of the perfect enchilada. Desperados enchiladas, not perfect, but very good. The tortillas were sturdy enough not to fall apart, and the fillings were well composed, so they didn't unroll on the fork. My granddaughter had a chicken and a cheese with chili con queso, I had a cheese and a beef with con carne. I wish the cheese had onions, but my granddaughter was glad hers did not. She liked the chicken a lot, and I especially liked the beef. We also, as always, had out chips and queso. The queso was subtle with a mild afterburn not full of non queso junk, like tomatoes or green onions et al. The best part of our trip was the great server, Lupita. Attentive but not intrusive, helpful with menu questions, responsive to every request. So much of a great restaurant experience is dependent on great servers like Lupita. We will definitely be back.

Leaving a local (home improvement) store we realized we were ready for an early bird dinner. Looking for local “Tex-Mex” flavor, we drove over to Desperados Mexican Restaurant (on Greenville) for a little satisfaction.

Christian and team delivered amazing service and delicious food as well as perfectly blended home made margaritas that complimented our meals perfectly!

Following Christian’s advice I dove into the tasty chunky guacamole while waiting for our meals to arrive.

Kirk’s beef fajitas arrived in a cloud of sizzle and steam! As my celebratory feast arrived, I eagerly leaned into the flavors of the crispy Chicken Fajita tacos (gooey with cheese), Steak Argentina (a seared tenderloin topped with a signature Chimichuri sauce), AND "Norm's" Camarones Acapulcos ( a fire roasted gulf shrimp, filled with queso rancho & jalapeños, wrapped in Applewood bacon)! Now y’all, I’m normally not a fan of the rice. But the rice that sat just under all that beef and shrimp was literally the best I’ve ever had!

As a side note. From the outside the building seems small. We were happily surprised by the roominess of the dining area(s). Even as we were eating and a group of 20+ people sat nearby, we never felt cramped or uncomfortable. Overall, it was easily a treat we look forward to revisiting time...

First, if you have the chance, sit at the bar. I’ve have had the pleasure to get to know both the staff and the patrons... don't miss out. Second, there was a secret margarita called the Michael Grant. I think they've recently moved it to the regular menu. It is well worth the upcharge though the top shelf margs here are also excellent! The appetizer sampler is the best choice if you have a party of 4 or more. Otherwise, their chips and salsa are awesome! First time visit? Desperados tacos a la carte. Get one chicken and one beef, minimum. You'll need to experience both. Yes, you're right... the fajitas do smell delicious (and they are) but tonight is all about the tacos!! Melted cheese topped with fajita meat and house made pico de gallo all encompassed in delicious flash fried tortillas!! Thank me later. The borracho beans are the perfect hangover cure! On your next visit you'll try to order something new but you'll regret not getting the tacos... lucky thing I've already told you that they can be ordered a la carte. You're welcome! If you haven't already overdone it with the tacos... get the dessert that's drenched in kahlua. I don't know the name. I've usually had three margaritas or more by then. Just ask for it. They'll...

For lunch at noon on a Friday, I was fully expecting to fight for a parking spot and wait for a table. Neither of those things happened. I was able to get a spot and a table immediately. It started to fill up quickly, but there were still a free tables around me that were open. Granted, it's a holiday weekend, so they may not be as busy as they normally are.

The wait staff was very quick and attentive to our food and drinks. They were knowledgeable of the menu and shared their recommendations. My standard of Mexican restaurants is the sour cream chicken enchiladas, so I got two of those and a beef enchilada. The food came out incredibly fast, which was great for having to be back at work at a reasonable time. Unfortunately for me, the sour cream sauce was a bit flavorless. I had to add pepper, which I almost never do. The rice and beans were good, but the beef enchilada was excellent!

I'll definitely be back, especially since I'm interested in their breakfast menu. I was disappointed by the chicken enchiladas, but that didn't stop me from having very good experience for my...
