It was my first time at jolibee and if I had to describe the environment tonight it would be “chaotic”.
The team member that took my order was outgoing and courteous, but clearly anxious and in a hurry despite there being just one person behind me inside. It’s possible this team member was supposed to be off the clock since they informed us of using someone else’s drawer while we waited for help to assist them. I appreciated their effort, especially since no other team member was communicating with customers.
I was chatting with my friend who came with me as we waited five or so minutes until the cashier helping us said loudly from behind the counter “Ma’am!?” and when I looked for them, they were gone. I continued talking to my friend. Then a minute later the cashier said it again a bit louder, “MA’AM!?” The two of us locked eyes which confirmed they were talking to me. I walked up to the counter and there was some confusion happening with me and another guest who was at the counter. the cashier said they were out of ranch to me and I said it’s okay, so I got an extra of the honey mustard. As they put my items in the bag, they were also putting food in another persons bag. I wasn’t sure which was mine, and then when a separate team member came to help, there was no communication between the two team members. They sorted through the food trying to figure out whose was whose as I waited there with the other guest semi awkwardly, semi stressed out-edly. I was there for maybe 3 minutes before eventually a bag was set down with no instructions. I picked it up and the cashier said “wait!” So I put it down. The bags were swapped once more and I collected the new bag. They immediately apologized and I appreciated that gesture. My order was fulfilled correctly.
As for the food, I have mixed feelings. I don’t think it would be fair to say it was bad since it was pretty split for me. The chicken wings were very fatty but had a little bit of tender meat which I liked. The fries weren’t my cup of tea - they were room temperature and there wasn’t any salt on them. That saddened me since I love me some salty fries. The biscuit was……delicious. my favorite part of the meal! It was crumbly and dense; I was very impressed and surprised to enjoy it as much as I did. The honey mustard was okay, I wish they had ranch but I understand. They offered me ketchup and when I said yes, they forgot to put it in my bag. My lychee tea was an unexpected treat, I just wish they filled my cup up all the way instead of two thirds of the way. I could have asked for help with that, but sensed the stress behind the counter and didn’t want to distract them.
Honestly, I was already having a draining day which is to no fault of jolibee or their employees. but I do feel like more could have been done to make my customer experience in the store less overwhelming. I think more communication and teamwork would make a world of a difference so no one person is doing all the talking in the future.
As much as I want to give the dining room another chance, i have certain sensory sensitives that made this experience just too overwhelming for me. I will however consider giving the the drive through a chance for more of that lychee tea, and a yummy...
Read moreA 5 star rating is not given to this specific experience. I will explain if you keep reading. The atmosphere was given a 3 out of 5 stars only because the restroom was in bad repair. The commode was leaking water all over the floor at the base mounting due to it being not securely mounted and sealed. The wax gasket seal where the toilet mounts onto the round drain hole on the floor just in front of the wall should be replaced, and the securing bolts tightened. I don't like water all over the floor that came from toilet flushings! This can cause a severe odor problem if not addressed. Now about the food. The macaroni and cheese tasted good, but was too dry from being baked. I prefer creamy macaroni from the stove top, like the macaroni at Chick-fil-A. The spaghetti was also good, though I was not expecting a hint of barbecue sauce flavor to the tomato sauce, AND THEY PUT VERY LITTLE SAUCE ON THE SPAGHETTI!!!! THE chicken strips, or tenders, had some hard spots in the meat, and a small piece of bone, making them almost as bad as Raising Cane's. The brown gravy that came with the strips was good, and their French fries were good, though I wish they did not cook them in Soybean oil. The Jollibee biscuits were tasty, and far better than other competitors biscuits, that are often hard, dry, and have very little flavor. I wish they had Coke products, not Pepsi. There was no Dr. Pepper, which I did not appreciate. Pepsi beverages are awful in my opinion. Pepsi COLA, regular, tastes like fake sweeteners and other ingredients are added for a strange cola flavor profile. If you get Pepsi from Mexico, for example, you get to experience how it used to be in the United States long ago from the original recipe. Signing up for a contract with Pepsi restricts the customer from having any Dr. Pepper / 7-Up products, if you choose the ALL PEPSI BEVERAGES OPTION, which gives you (as the buisiness owner) incentive, including lower drink cost and maybe unlimited service support. No, this is not a shady, dirty, or unethical buisiness practice, but I disagree with it. The Coca Cola Company also has an incentive like the one I just mentioned. There is a reason why other restaurant chains such as Chuck-E-Cheeses and Taco Cabana, for example, have changed over to Pepsi from Coke. THE MAIN REASON IS PEPSI COSTS LESS. Some restaurant chains that are from the Northern United States have Pepsi since that's what is popular in many northern states. On the other hand, some restaurant chains that are based in the Southern United States, like Burger King, have Coca Cola brand beverages. I Would be glad to come back to Jollibee, but will have a...
Read moreThere is only twice in my life I have ever rejected food violently after consuming. This was my first time ever eating at a Jollibee and can't assume I would never eat at a another location again but THIS location is a NO for me.
I did not use the bathroom so can not assume it's appearance. Our table had not been wiped down, gravy and crumbles we all over one side of the table. There we crumbles all over the seats facing the order counter on red seating blocks. I believe the dining area just needed more attention in between customers, a quick wipe down that had not been done.
Only 1 person behind the counter actually smiled and welcomed us as we entered, same person who took our order. There was a somber view of the back. Customers service is lacking here.
Now the food. Was it flavorful? Yes. The gravy was OK, not sure what the major hype is. I would have preferred less lumps. The chicken had a concerning temperature, it was just not hot enough, it was border line cooked. I stopped eating it half through. I liked the mashed potato. I had my husband's fries and they were seasoned, light coating type of fries. The Mac and Cheese, never again. It tasted as if made with sliced cheese, it had a sliced kraft cheese taste and hue. It needs to be taken down to a regular side item, there is nothing premium about it. Biscuit was OK, overly buttered in taste. Pineapple quencher read more like a tropical mango/Pineapple mix, extremely artificial in taste. Just wasn't for me.
I didn't make it to my home before my body rejected this meal. I hit the parking lot, walkway, hallway and bathroom before I was done vomiting. I'm very concerned about the attentiveness of the food preparation and cooking at this place. It is rare that I have reacted to a fast food meal like this and it was one I could not ignore letting other's know about.
Now, this could have been just a bad night. I won't suggest people not go to this business because I've only been 1 time and others have enjoyed it based on some reviews but I can't go back for my own sake.
For the price, I could have gone over to babes and got my...
