I was excited to see frequent purchase cards on the counter since we eat at the Oak Lawn location all of the time. I had to ask for one, however, since the cashier didn't care to offer me one. The card says; "Taco Tracker: Buy 9 tacos, get the 10th FREE." My partner and I bought a total of 6 tacos. She gave us one stamp. When I queried about it, she said you only get one per a visit. Um, well that doesn't make sense. It says, buy 9 tacos, get 10th free, not, 9 visits, get 10th visit free. So, I asked if we could get a second stamp for my partner then, since we paid on separate cards. She said, only one card per a person. Okay, well she didn't give my partner his card either. What the heck? No one wants to argue about stamps. I know it's trivial, but why have a card with false advertising that begs an argument for no reason? Frequent purchase cards should be a fun perk, not an annoyance before you even sit down. If you're not going to honor it, just don't even have them as an option. when the food comes, there was a long hair in my food. my partner received the wrong taco. After we each finished our meal, we still hadn't received our chips and guac. I went up to the counter to be ignored for 5 minutes (the cashier was right in front of me) before the cook came over and asked if we needed anything. She told the cashier my request and she rolled her eyes and said we hadn't ordered any. I showed her our receipt. She turns to get the guac, it was completely brown, so she had to get some from the back. every single employee had ear buds in. They didn't look or talk to each other even though they were in close proximity and the guy stared and rolled his eyes at the cook as she was cleaning. Seemed very tense.

Read moreI placed a takeout ordered at 4pm on a Saturday. When I went in the place had maybe 4 or 5 tables, all with food, so the kitchen wasn't in any way busy.
One word to start. Overpriced. $40 for a 2 person meal. It included chips, slasa, & queso, as well as 10 small street tacos(on flour tortillas, not corn, so not really "street tacos" per se). I expected the kitchen, which is visable, to finish the fillings on the grill, or at the very least, warm the tortillas on the grill. I watched them make my order and nothing ever touched the flat top. Everything was pulled from the holding table, even the fried chicken. Nothing was freshly prepared, or finished.
What I unwrapped when I got home was unedable. My family found dried out, sour, and texturally stringy "meat". The beef was the color of pork and tasted acrid. It obviously used liquid smoke or was smoked way to hot, and with way to much smoke. The fajita beef was freezer burnt and mealy. It was not a fresh product. The pork taco with the pineapple salsa was just missing any toppings completely. It was a single tortia and pork that look strangely exactly like the briscut. The tortillas are so thin that they were wet and gummie and absolutely just falling apart.
The side of chips were obviously fried in old oil that had been used to previously fry fish and shrimp. This resulted in inedible chips. I mean, you shouldn't call yourself a taco shop in Texas if you can't even get the chips and salsa correct.
TL;DR; This is in no way a taco place that should be charging premium prices for subpar quality food. It was amature hour for sure. Not remotely worth the...
