Fuzzy's Taco Shop — Restaurant in Dallas

I tried to give this place a couple of tries after the bad experience I had about a month ago. My friend told me the service and food is normally not bad so I gave it another try since it’s really close to my job. I went back once a week since then and the service was ok and the food was ok. Today I go and a window is broke so I mentioned to the lady at the counter that is was still some glass on the floor. I have on really thick sandals so the glass didn’t go through my shoe but the chunks were in the grooves of my shoe. Plus one of their little kids was running around behind the counter and by the door and I didn’t want him to get cut. I was having a conversation with a coworker and was laughing but ended the conversation once I figured out what I wanted to order. I ordered a grilled cod taco with no tomatoes and lettuce and a tempura shrimp quesadilla with no pico. I didn’t have my new card on Apple Pay so I had to go get it out the car and it took me a couple of minutes to find it. I came back and paid for my food. I didn’t know she had re rung up my food. Once I got my food I realized it was a grilled quesadilla, I tried and didn’t like it so I went back to the front and the girl went off saying she repeated back the order which she did the first time. Then her sidekick which I have encountered several times cause she normally takes my order. She has even suggested a couple of things for me to try. I didn’t like most but I never asked for another side or for something else just threw it in the trash and didn’t order it again. So I told her I come here at least once a week and pretty much order the same thing grilled fish or tempura shrimp (I tried the grilled shrimp awhile ago and didn’t like cause it bland). She tells me that I have had an attitude since I walked through the door even though I was laughing and joking with my coworker. She basically said what did I want her to do about it. So I asked for a refund and left before things went left. I don’t know what happen to their window but it doesn’t surprised me if that happened because of...

If I could judge this place based solely on atmosphere and creativity, it would easily be five stars. The service is also good, despite taking a bit longer than you'd expect to bring your food out after ordering.

The taste? Well, perhaps it's what I ordered, but the best word I can use to describe it is ... "different"..?

Props for being willing to take risks with menu items a try new things. I will remember "shrimp and queso in your FACE O" for quite some time. The fried shrimp themselves were pretty yummy, the refried beans did not disappoint, and the enchilada was good too, and smothered in a thick sauce, the way it should be.

The rice? Meh. Supposedly, it had lime in it, but it was mostly flavorless. And the hot sauce on the table? While creatively named (something like "burnt butt sauce"..?), it was bland and not really that hot. Kind of like weak Tabasco sauce.

Prices were what you'd expect. The rest of the experience is overall good, and well-deserving of four stars, but the rice and the salsa are such staples that those need to be a home run too, if you're going to earn all five stars from this guy.

Would I go back? Yes. The menu is extensive, and there are a variety of interesting things I'd still like...

My To Go order placed in store was NOT made correctly. I spoke with men making it explaining that it was NOT rung up right but they made it wrong anyway. I had them remake it. I asked for NO red salsa so they gave me 7 red salsa. I asked FOR GREEN salsa which they gave me one at a time grudgingly AFTER I'd already returned when I reminded them I ASKED FOR GREEN. I FINALLY got three. My chips and guac which were supposed to have PLAIN chips had chips so covered with spucy salt that they looked BLACKENED! They were NOT edible so guac without chips cost $4.15 for a 1/4 cup serving...REALLY?? The employees are either on drugs or do not understand English. I repeated my requests in Spanish but they acted like they didn't understand that either. The peopke ahead of me had problems with their order too. They took part of theumir appetisers back and part of their entree order was wrong too. It WAS NOT busy...mid afternoon with no one in line behind me and only two tables ahead of me.
