Let's talk about being BLOWN AWAY by flavor after being FLOORED by service... That's what this is. I called first to get some information and was greeted by Joe, the namesake of the deli. He was kind, patient, and held his product in high regard. My partner and I ordered our lunch via courier (DoorDash). We got the spring blossom with avocado on white, chicken salad on their marble rye (the bread is made fresh every day, locally), and had to try both pasta and potato salads as well as their pickle. The sandwiches were impeccable — piled high with garden fresh vegetables, tender chicken, cheese that gave it that well-rounded, signature bite, and dressings that tasted no less than homemade. The salads were authentic. The pasta salad has al dente macaroni with dressing that imparts a sweet, tangy bite like you might get in a delicatessen in NY or Jersey. The potato salad was even better, as according to the menu, it's Joe's mother's recipe, so you know it's made with love and not in some food service factory. Take it from Kirk and Luke: If you want lunch that you can write home about,...
Read moreNice people (hence the 2 stars) but this was my first time in and I was not happy with the sandwich. I got wheat bread and it was SUPER chewy and not pleasant to eat. The inside of the sandwich was great though, the bread was bad.. After I left the restaurant I tried calling to ask how much the hot peppers were, because I felt like $10.14 seemed high for a sandwich and pickle spear. The sandwich was $8.27, the pickle spear was $.40, and hot cherry peppers I thought were only $0.25, but I guess not, since that doesn't add up, according to my calculations they are $0.63? That seems high. I feel like I was overcharged and am honestly annoyed that I paid over $10 for a subpar sandwich. I've called maybe 5 times but it keeps going to their voicemail and it says that they have not activated it. I'll probably be going to Jersey Mike's when I want...
Read moreUpdate...giving this place 5 stars now, it can't be helped if the bread runs out and it's a completely understandable reason. It just means everything is fresh! I still love this place, best subs around hands down! :)
I really love this place, one of the best sub sandwiches I've had. The staff is always super nice and if I'm lucky I get to see Joe :) who is also equally awesome! Really fresh tasty sandwiches and the best fresh squeezed lemonade. But so sad, I got here at 3:30pm on a Friday and they are closed even though the hours posted on the door says open until 4pm. Happened 2 Fridays in a row. I wish I can get here earlier. :( But I also wish they were open until 4pm like it says. Maybe the hours have changed that I'm not aware of. Alas, again no subs today. I guess I'll try...
