Food: The açaí bowls at Mamaka are decent, but there are definitely better options in DFW. I had the Tropical bowl, which started strong but became monotonous after a while. The canned pineapple topping was disappointing and tasted unnatural. My boyfriend had the Bro bowl, but the protein powder overpowered the flavor, and the strawberries didn’t complement it well. Overall, these bowls felt like something you could easily make at home. I’d rate the food a 3/5. Service: Service was quick and efficient, which is standard for this type of spot. No real complaints, so I’d give it a 3/5. Atmosphere: The atmosphere had a fun, beachy vibe, but it was pretty loud inside due to the talking, music, and blender noise. The outdoor seating option was nicer, but there was no shade, making it less comfortable. I’d recommend getting your order to go. Overall, the atmosphere earns a 3/5. - Isabella (Girlfriend)

I finally had the chance to try Mamaka after wanting to for a while, since I don’t live nearby and happened to be in the area. Walked in and was disappointed right away — not a single friendly smile or greeting from the staff, even though I was clearly acknowledged. I ended up ordering the Mamaka bowl, which came out to around $11 with tax. It was just okay — I’d give it a 5/10. Honestly, I’ll stick with my usual spot, Juiceland. The quality of ingredients is better and I always feel welcomed there. I really enjoy supporting local businesses and trying new places, but I also value being treated with respect. As a minority, I couldn’t help but notice a different level of treatment, which left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be returning.

Mamaka continues to be my favorite smoothie and acai bowl place. We were so excited when they decided to open up one in Dallas. Everything here is priced extremely reasonably making it great value ($6 smoothies and 9.50 bowls). The bowls are high quality, have a great consistency, and have some of the best granola around. There is a great variety of bowls and smoothies you can pick from and I have liked everyone I have tried. Some of my favorite bowls are the hang over cure and the babe. My favorite smoothies are the pura vida and the ohana. My only con is that the atmosphere isn’t as good at this one compared to the Houston one (less seating and not as good of a view).
