Media Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Dallas

So, I was a little leery of this place based upon a lot of the reviews. However, my wife and I were tired and didn't want to leave the hotel tonight. So, we gave it a shot.

The service was very good. Gamil was attentive and prompt. The food came out quickly and was very fresh. Contrary to many reviews, nothing was overcooked. My wife got the beef bolagnese and said it was very good. Plenty of sauce and meat with a dollop of ricotta. I got the "chicken under a brick". The dish came with lightly roasted Brussel sprouts, melted leeks, and rice. All of the sides were very good. The chicken was almost great. It was cooked perfectly, tender with crispy skin. However, the description on the menu said something about herbs. If they were used, I couldn't tell it. If the kitchen had prepared the chicken with with herbs and parmesean, the parmesean would have made a delightful crust with the crispy chicken and the flavor would have been spectacular. Instead, it was just good and plain chicken with crispy skin.

Overall, it was a better than average experience for a hotel restaurant. The prices were high because it is in a hotel, but they actually weren't as high as I expected. Each...

I rarely write reviews, but after an entire week of visiting Media, I simply couldn’t leave without highlighting the incredible experience we had — especially because of one outstanding server: Eliseo.

We drove all the way from Houston to spend a family getaway nearby, and by the end of the week, we felt like locals — mainly thanks to Eliseo’s warm hospitality and impeccable service. We dined at Media three separate times, and by the second visit, Eliseo already knew our preferences, checked in with genuine care, and made every moment feel personal and effortless.

He introduced us to the legendary butterscotch pie — and let me just say, we ended up ordering one every single time. It became our sweet tradition during the trip. Eliseo didn’t just serve food; he created a memorable experience for our family.

Service like his is rare — attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, kind, and sincerely welcoming. We would absolutely return, not only for the delicious food but because of professionals like Eliseo who turn a meal into a memory.

The hotel was great, and most of the staff was kind and polite. However, we had two negative experiences at the Media Grill + Bar Restaurant.

The first incident happened during dinner. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet it took more than 45 minutes for our order to arrive. Part of the food was cold and hard, and it took more than 20 minutes just to receive the check. When we noticed some items were priced differently than on the menu, we pointed it out to the waitress. She said she would call the manager, but that took another 20 minutes. By then, we were already frustrated and just wanted to leave. When she finally returned, she simply said, "For future reference, the price on the menu is incorrect." No apologies—just as if it were our problem.

The second incident was during breakfast with an extremely rude hostess. She was impolite and treated us poorly. Fortunately, when we called the manager, she was amazing and handled the situation well.
