I recently tried out this Merit location for the first time, and it was a good experience overall. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy interior that made it easy to settle in and relax. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great spot whether you want to catch up with a friend, get some work done, or just enjoy a quiet moment. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive vibe of the place. I ordered the strawberry matcha, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and beautifully presented. I also ordered the strawberry pop tart which was ok, just a bit too sweet for me. The only downside was the location. It’s in a busy area, and finding parking was a bit of a challenge. If you’re planning a visit, you might want to give yourself a little extra time to park. Overall, I’d definitely go back. The atmosphere, service, and drinks more than made up for the minor inconvenience of parking!

I hate to write a negative review about this place because I’ve loved Merit for years, but if I’m going to pay over $6 for a matcha latte (before tip!) I expect it to be made “correctly”. That does not mean putting matcha powder in a blender with water to make your concentrate and then storing it in a plastic squeeze bottle 🤮 Can we all say “BPA” together? It means whisking the matcha together for each drink, truly making a handcrafted matcha. That’s what I’m paying for, after all. I can easily do the blender trick at home in my own fridge. What’s even more shocking about this is I was literally the only customer in the store when I ordered this drink. There was no need to try to save 30 seconds. It was literally pure laziness. Merit, you’ve downgraded yourself to offering the fast food of matcha lattes. So disappointed in you.

Merit Coffee: MATCHA REVIEW For my matcha lovers out there Merit offers a refreshing and smooth matcha. I ordered an iced matcha latte with whole milk, and I really appreciate that their matcha is not pre-sweetened. It did have interesting after flavor that was not like any matcha I’ve had before. They used actual power though so there was some separation within my matcha and it didn’t seem to be all dissolved. They use ice nuggets too which melt a lot quicker than larger cubes. So on a hot Texas day my matcha gets watered down a lot faster. The staff was friendly and the space itself was lovely. I’d definitely come back to try their other drinks. An iced matcha latte costs: $5.95 for a 16 oz cup Matcha Rating: 7.2

UPDATE: I was working on my laptop, so was here for 5 hours. In that time I never saw them change out the half/half for customer use, not once bud any table or even mop up the water that was in a huge puddle on the floor. Definitely won’t be back here again. If they aren’t doing the things I can, how can anyone trust that they are doing things properly behind the bar. Ewwwww.

Since it was my first time at a Merit Coffee Co. I let the counter person know. She was really nice and even recommended a drink to try when I was able to have a caffeinated beverage. (I’d already had a double matcha in the AM). It was clear that the seating area hadn’t been bussed all morning. I asked if my area could be wiped down as there were crumbs and dried up spilt coffee all over the place. Someone did approach my table with a rag. I ordered a cinnamon cruffin and had a small iced americano and tipped. When I got to my table, the chair was still covered in large pastry flakes. So I asked for a rag and told the busy barista I didn’t mind and could wipe it myself. When I realized there was only half/half at the coffee station, I politely asked if I could have a bit of oat or almond milk. The tall barista was quick to bring up that he’d have to charge me, to wit I mentioned that it was my 1st visit and I’d had to wipe up my chair myself and tipped him, but that if he wanted to charge me for the oat milk that was fine. The other barista who’d handed me the rag earlier said that a splash would be ok. Having worked at a couple coffee shops through college (which is why I always tip) I’m well aware that when cleaning the seating area is not prioritized, it doesn’t get done. There is enough time to do it. If every barista were to give the seating area a once over before going on break (which is what we did where I worked) the seating area stays reasonably clean and only take a few mins. Suffice to say, this will not be my new go-to coffee shop on Sundays. I may return another day to see if my experience is uncharacteristic for this location, but a “no” to this place. The coffee was ok, not great, prices high and with the filthy seating area, and the meh service there are too many other coffee establishments to try out. It’s clear they make enough money, maybe that’s why the individual customer isn’t important to this Merit Coffee...

This started off as an amazing experience because of the gentleman that took my order! But the other guy working with him completely completely ruined it… This was my first time here and I was really excited to try it because it’s so close to home! The gentleman that took my order was very patient. I got my drink the first disappointment was the sonic ice for some reason, the coffee just never taste right with this type of ice. I was also trying something. I’ve never tried before which is always scary for me and the gentleman that took my order was trying to help me and every way and we probably would’ve really gotten it correct but the other guy was getting irritated and having an attitude about a $10 drink that I was paying for NOT HIM. That guy needs a crash course and customer service. The other guy that took my order is phenomenal and you guys are blessed to have them. I may try and come back for an Americano, but having any iced coffees will be out, unfortunately due to the awful sonic ice! I have been to some coffee shops where they have both types of ice maybe you all could...

Love, Love, LOVE this Merit location!!! The staff is so welcoming, and every time I come in I'm always greeted with a friendly smile and "Hello!" Their lattes and matcha (my absolute favorite) are superb and appropriately priced. They bring an inventive take to drink crafting, and their method of matcha is both interesting and effective in taste. Daresay, it's possibly one of the best matchas in the DFW area. With as busy as they are, I'm thrilled to see that pride and quality are being incorporated into their products; they are both thorough and efficient to keep up with their business flow. While I can always make my drinks from home, I can consistently trust Merit to cater their best service and delicious drinks on those days I'm feeling extra lazy. I highly recommend this location to anyone who loves a peaceful cafe ambience, fast service, and drinks sweet enough to make your dietician scream! :D

Just needed to express my graciousness and spread the positivity! Keep up the great work...
