FOOD POISONING/CONTAMINATION ALERT: My husband and I ate at ModMarket on Walnut Hill Lane on the evening of May 24. It was our 3rd and final visit to ModMarket. We ate dinner about 8:15pm and we were incredibly sick by 10pm. We continued to get sick well into the next day.

I contacted ModMarket on May 25 at 9:15am to tell them what happened so they could pull the food and prevent someone else from getting ill. I also provided our receipt info and exactly what we ate so they could track who helped us, etc. The manager dismissed my report. I followed up on Wed, May 27 with a General Manager who passed my complaint to their area manager. The area manager promised to look in to the situation - but we all know how self-policing works, right? I also mentioned in our conversation that it could have been contamination from mishandling food or not washing hands. Of course, they found nothing. And, they offered to do: nothing. (How about coming back in to eat at no charge? No thanks!)

I recognize it is a difficult situation to rectify, but the least they could do was not lie to me. The Health Department paid a visit (not at my request, tho my name and contact info was used by someone connected to them) and found at least one employee that was NOT wearing gloves while handling what they call "ready to eat" food. So, what they denied could have happened at their establishment because they "watched 12-hours of tape" and their "employees would never..." I am posting this because I am disappointed in ModMarket's reaction and response to getting my husband and I so ill. I waited to post so they could have an opportunity to correct a mistake and maybe learn something. If a health inspector stopped by nearly 2 weeks after our incident and found at least 1 employee that wasn't mindful of maintaining a sanitary environment, it sounds like their efforts of "talking to employees" and "retraining" weren't very good or didn't happen at all.

I know several of my friends and neighbors eat there, so hopefully you can be alert if you eat...

Placed an order for pick up. Salmon plate that comes with heirloom rice, chimichuri and a choice of two additional sides for 2 dollars each.

I ordered 1 additional side of the rosemary mashed potatoes, and did not choose a second side. I was sent an email confirmation and that said my order would be ready at 7:55. Arrived shortly after 8 and went to the pick up the order. Someone asked me the name for the order and I said my name and was told it was almost ready, four more minutes. 10 minutes go by and I ask for an update on the order and now there is no order for my name. I show the email confirmation and was told they remember making that order and that they'd make it again. A few minutes later I was given a single piece of salmon and a side of potatoes, but no rice or chimichuri. Went and asked for those sides and was told that I only got one side. I then had to point out the menu to the employees and show that the order should already come with those two sides and then I should also have the additional side order I paid for. I was then given about two table spoons of rice but no chimichurri, and at this point I had been at this place for about 35 minutes and didn't feel like having to haggle for the other side order that comes with the plate I originally ordered.

Having worked in food service for a while I can understand the occasional mishap and so I'm willing to give this place another shot but I'll be sure never order online again for fear of this type of...

We ordered again for lunch to be delivered for 8 people. I am a day late on doing the review, we ordered yesterday. Everything was smooth from ordering to being delivered. Everything arrived, nothing missing, 1 order was not correct. One person ordered the tofu salad, Buddha, and subbed the tofu for Salmon and the salad did not have the Salmon. Everything was packed well. This time I ordered the Bacon Jam sandwich on ciabatta roll with Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was very tasty, no complaints at all. The Mac & Cheese arrived cold and was very dry, did not care for it at all. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. We will order from here again, but I do not recommend the Mac & Cheese. No one is perfect and we will make mistakes sometimes, so since it has been just this one time of not having an order correct I overlook it on the review.

We ordered lunch from here for 8 people. From the order to delivery, everything went pretty quick and smooth, no issues. Great service all around, all 8 orders were correct no issues. Everything was packed well and was visually appealing upon arrival. I did a build your own bowl with Spring Mix, Creamy Jalapeño Lime dressing, blackened chicken thigh, blue corn chips, mango salsa, cilantro, and fresh jalapeños. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. The dressing was amazing, and the fresh jalapeños were nice and hot! Definitely will order from here again. No issues at all from beginning to end!
