I would like to speak with the owner of this establishment, and I would also like to know who the kind gentleman who arrived in a truck & said that he was part of management is so I can personally thank him.
I have lived in this neighborhood since 2018 and have been a Blue Sushi Sake customer since. The bartender yesterday was fantastic (black dude with a pre-teen daughter). A patron to my right continuously mocked me while she was on video chat. After the bartender left, she continued. Other staff joined in. I started recording because I couldn’t believe what was occurring. A staff member from back of house was trying to fight me while another staff member held her back - meanwhile, I was sitting in my seat with my little glass of wine… and the woman who instigated everything was laughing. The woman holding back the back of house staff told the manager to get me out. There were at least 5+ staff members in on this. It’s obvious that I was not a concern, as they were all laughing and smiling the entire time. I have it on video + photo. Security told me that I was not allowed to record (while also continuously informing me that he had a camera on his chest that was “reflective”… not sure what he meant by that). The security guard threatened to call DPD. I said that they’re short staffed, and I would be long gone by the time they arrived. He told me that they wouldn’t be short staffed as soon as he made a call. He then called and told them I had too much to drink, which was not the case. So, I’m outside, freezing. A kind man (white guy, I think his truck was maybe navy blue?) showed up and said that he was management. He asked me if I’d like to go up to the 3rd floor where there was heat, assured that I had a ride coming (I had called Uber, as I never drink and drive), and said that if police did arrive, tell them to talk to him. When he showed up, the security guard left.
Being mocked, harassed, threatened and having a false 911 call against me at a restaurant where I have spent thousands of dollars…taken friends, dates, clients… recommended to others… and regularly DoorDash it for lunch &...
Read moreInterior is very modern and extremely cold. I usually bring a sweater or sit outside. The patio is inviting and servers on the patio don't disappear like at some places.
Every time I visit is a new experience with new flavours and textures that make me want to come back again and again. My usual server, Nick (for whom I ask by name), is very personable with great suggestions. A New York native relocated to Dallas, he admits unfamiliarity with some sushi and is not afraid to bring someone to the table in the off chance we have a question he can't answer.
I highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Toban to start. Cracking the egg is so fun and the succulence of the mushrooms with the rich brown sauce is to die for. I am not a fan of sweet, so recently learned from manager, Jennifer, that the Ahi Tuna Tower without sauce is incredible. We added a touch of Ponzu at her suggestion abd could not have enjoyed it more the second time around. If you like sweet foods, ordering the tower as it comes is likely up your alley.
One person in my group doesn't like raw fish, but couldn't get over how fresh and clean everything tastes. The quality is tremendously evident. We ordered so many different rolls I can't remember them all. I love the giant ship presentation with five or more rolls. It just adds to the fun.
As dessert came around, we noticed we were the only people in the restaurant. We were never made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome and honestly had no clue our dinner extended more than an hour past closing. The entire staff was so gracious.

Read moreI've visited California many times and had the privilege of having some of the best sushi around! I recently moved to Dallas, and my experience with sushi here has been less than savoury. It's been incredibly difficult. I suppose it's not difficult to imagine why, but the quality of sushi here is generally lacklustre, to say the least. Enter Blue Sushi Sake Grill—People here swear by it, and it's constantly recommended to me by friends and colleagues alike. I came here on a date (she's crazy about the place) Saturday night just to see what the hype was about. It's a very pretty interior with intimate lighting, good for a date! The service was friendly and knowledgeable! The miso soup was excellent, and got me excited for the meal to come. That said, the sushi itself was simply decent, especially for the price. The pricing simply didn't correlate to the quality I ended up receiving. We tried MULTIPLE rolls, and I don't think the taste or quality is quite up to the standards I'm used to. The "black dragon roll", apparently a secret menu item, was a flavourful standout and exception, and I'd rate that individual roll a 5/5. Everything else was a strong 2 to a light 3. I do give points for creativity with some of the rolls, however. These are fun rolls!
All in all, I think the restaurant is fine. Good, but it doesn't deserve the praise it gets, and considering the apparent lack of good sushi places available to Texans, I suppose it makes sense. ...
