Make an appointment, but you are not able to test any speakers since they have to hook them up. Their headphones station is currently closed so you cannot test anything. This place is so small, with 2 separate rooms with a few speakers staged in place for looks. One of the guys said it would take 15 min to hook up their speaker systems, but you won't be able to compare since they have to uninstall the previous one to hook up the other. They literally have something like 5 brands total to choose from - obscure sounding brands I've never heard of, even after doing countless research online and watching plenty of audio reviews from reputable audiophiles (even the most popular audiophiles never mentioned these $$$$ products in their top 10). Honestly had the impression that the salesman enjoyed hearing himself talk more than really helping us. He never asked our budget and kept pushing a certain brand he liked that we could not afford. We left after 30 min into our appointment (1 hr long appt) without even hearing anything because the guy was just talking and showing speakers. Another customer came in wanting to test Dynaudio speakers, but they don't carry that (no KEFs, Klipsch, etc) or any other well established brands, which is crazy. That customer was also baffled and left. This store is meant for people with plenty of disposable income that prefer someone else to pick out systems for them. We ended up going to a popular electronics store (you all know the one) right after and they had way better customer service with their products hooked up to test and...

I am very happy that I found Audio Concepts. I have been looking for a knowledgeable and friendly audio and video store for a while now. I have made two purchase there so far (Golden Ear speakers and an NAD audio/video controller), and I’m delighted with their performance. I worked with Jorge-Anthony. When I was talking to him about what I was looking for, he listened very carefully, asked clarifying questions, and in fact, took notes. Then he played several pieces of music to demonstrate the sound, and then asked me for some choices that he also played. The whole experience was very casual and enjoyable.

I had been purchasing audio and video products on-line for some time now, as I’d been to some high-end shops and received the snobby treatment. It was just the opposite at Audio Concepts.

I have set up audio and video in 5 different houses, so at first I hesitated when he offered to install the speakers for me. But even with my experience, I thought “I’ll give this a try”, and I’m sure glad that I did. The installation of speakers is so critical. He would make an adjustment, sit down and listen, and make smaller and smaller adjustments, with the final adjustment being maybe a quarter of an inch. Do I know how to set them up? Yes. Do I have a trained ear for very fine adjustment? No. Having the professional installation was well worth it.

For me, the entire experience was wonderful. And I’m heading back there soon for my next upgrade.

I drove up recently from Houston to Dallas to get my Linn Sondek LP 12 worked on. The turntable was spinning slowly and there was a slight noise as it turned. Mark Ashworth at Audio Concepts set up an appointment for me and we decided it needed the Cirkus upgrade, plus the power supply was probably the reason for the speed issues.

My impressions of the store were first rate. They have 5 listening rooms filled with a variety of equipment that ranges from entry level to the highest performance level of components. Mark took my turntable in and worked on it. He added the Cirkus upgrade, adjusted the cartridge and tonearm, and was going to add a new power supply. However he had a Valhalla that had been traded in previously and instead of charging me for a new Majik power supply he installed the Valhalla, at no charge. I was very surprised and happy with this - it saved money and as we listened to it there I knew I'd received a great sounding solution. When I took the LP 12 home and hooked it up to my system it sang beautifully. I am so happy with the results.

So if you want top quality work done by experts who are sincerely out to help you improve your system, Audio Concepts is a great place to start. I'm a loyal customer now and will look to them in the future for repairs or new additions...
