I am sad to say we had a very disappointing dining experience. We were celebrating my friends birthday lunch. The service was very subpar. We had to wait for our drinks long time, and every time the waitress was forgetting birthday girl drinks. We had to wave down the waitress for everything and then ask other waiters for salt, an order, refills. (It was not busy). The waitress was annoyed every time, no smile and big language barrier. We ordered two appetizers and when the food came it was cleared off although it was only half done. We waved down the waitress and she argued with us that it was nothing left . No appologies. We asked for a dessert menu, she brought it to us than a minute later took it away without asking if we wanted dessert. Again, we had to flag her down for dessert menu and to order dessert. We asked for a candle, well the cheese platter came and no candle no happy birthday and no complimentary dessert. Last but not least when the check came she never advised us that she has put an automatic gratuity on the check (there was 5 of us and it’s automatically charged). All the places I have been to always mention that the gratuity has been included, we felt like she was hoping to get double tipped. Last but not least, it took her over 20 minutes to run 4 credits cards the same dollar amount. I have celebrated many special occasions at Salum, but this was very disappointing. No magic moments, food was fine, but it was not the experience my friends and I hoped for. One last thing, they were having a champagne vendor seminar at the same time, so music was turned off, the positive side was the restaurant gave us half bottle of the champagne , but we had to pour it ourselves. Hopefully this was a one time occasion and the great service and food...
Read moreWent to Salum for dinner a few nights ago. I am someone that eats out quite a bit and loves quality food. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in DFW and I can not express the quality and service that I received at Salum. It was out of this world. Owner and Chef Abraham is extremely involved in his restaurant and walks around interacting with guests and making sure everyone is enjoying everything they have received. They have a open kitchen concept and Chef Abraham watches every dish as it comes out to make sure it is correct and presentable. Also our server was amazing. He was professional and attentive without being overbearing which is a talent many people don't realize. The food was amazing. I had the Lamb Chops and the Duck Confit' and there was nothing left to be wanted. Both dishes were amazing. My guests had the burger (which is blended with filet) and loved it and another guest had the salmon and said it was one of the best pieces of fish she has ever had. Also, the bread pudding is unreal. Try it with a house made cappuccino. Great ending to the night. Salum is a mildly hidden gem, as it deserves to be one of Dallas's top restaurants. I wish nothing but success and fortune to Chef Abraham and look forward to my...
Read moreI don't know why I have waited 15 years to leave a review. I don't leave a lot of reviews but this year is different and this place is a rare jewel, so here goes. You will be hard-pressed to find a better meal or dining experience in Dallas than what you find here. Every visit has been stellar. I can't recall anything, that I have ever ordered that wasn't superb. Abraham has a fine palate and it shows in his food and the way it is executed. It also shows in the understated but elegant dining room and the fine staff that provides excellent service, without being stuffy. The hospitality is amazing. Many restaurants come and go in Dallas and we are often searching for the next big thing but this is the real deal. It surprises me how many people don't know about Salum or maybe save it for special occasions. Salum should be on your short list of "go to places". It never disappoints and I hope Abraham and Salum are around for many more years. Please support your local...
