Taqueria La Ventana — Restaurant in Dallas

My reasoning for giving 3 stars is because the staff was fairly young, so they didn't have the professionalism or sense of urgency to be at a fast paced establishment (small menu)(under drinking age). Drinks were above stellar despite the speed of service. I'm going to just blame it on the time of day I visited, 730pm on a Saturday night. Patio was nice, lots of seating to be just that and 2/3 walkup windows. My bf pastor burrito was 60% beans 30%rice and veggies 🤭, although the remake was what we originally expected the 1st time around b/c it def would've left a better impression. I ordered a steak quesadilla and elotes, the quesadilla was on point but the elotes was poorly made 😫. You can tell it was freshly shucked, some kernels were still aligned. During the wait for my bf remake, I noticed the elote station, corn, crema and cotija, at the window with the young ladys with no lid (not heated/cooled/stored properly). Not because the kitchen wasn't equipped but b/c staff was more occupied with each other than food safety/quality. I literally watched the lady calling out orders take her hand out of her Hot Cheeto w/Limon bag and lick her fingers or wipe them on her clothes befor calling out evry other order!! 30 minutes and 5 orders later after getting impatient i finally asked one of the girls where was my burrito and she returned to window saying the kitchen "forgot" so "give em 5 minutes they making it...

This place has good food and fast service, but today I feel like I got totally disrespected by an employee by the name of Alma. I visited this establishment today around 3pm with my wife, kids, and a few other family member. Everything as usual till after maybe 5min after ordering my food everyone at my table started to get there food(they ordered after me). So I go up to they window and respectfully ask Alma if I was maybe skipped. She disgarded anything I said to her without looking at my ticket sent me on my way to wait for another 20lengthly minutes while everyone else ate and here i was patiently waiting for my food. So I decide to go and ask her again this time insisting that I have been skipped. After her rudely stating to me that I should be payying attention (I was clearly stationed at a table near the window) and completely walking away and ignoreing me when I politly asked for her name. This employee made me feel very uneasy and on a side note makes the environment feel very toxic. All it takes is one rotten apple to spoil the entire barrel. For this reason they will only be getting two stars. I enjoy there food and will be visiting again. I will not let this toxic individual ruin my experience with this establishment. This has always been the go to place when going out with friends, or family. We have always had a good experience most of the time. Although, today was the day that we had an awful experience. My sisters & I went to go have some margs & enjoy a Friday with some nice weather. Ordering was fine the lady was very helpful & attentive. Upon getting our drinks our food was ready & the guy at the window was busy no doubt but i was standing there for a good 3 min & he seemed to be avoiding me, trying to ask where it is that I can get some salsa. So, while my sister was at the window getting our beverages I went to help her & asked her if she can ask the gentleman at the window for some limes & if he knew where we could find the salsa or if they had it in there & so she asked him politely & his response was “I have 4 customers behind you” she walked away & said “okay, thanks.” I work in the food industry & I understand that Friday nights are busy & dreadful & you deal with a lot craziness but that was beyond rude because we are “customers” as well. So it’s safe to say I am upset with the customer service we received tonight. Any response other then that would have been better. Shout out to the super helpful busser though.
