This review is incredibly late, but we had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District in October 2023 and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our special day was nothing short of perfect.
Our journey began with Alma, who patiently answered our numerous questions before we even booked the venue. Her professionalism and willingness to provide detailed information helped us feel confident in our choice. Once we began planning, Anna stepped in and truly made the process enjoyable and stress-free. She was incredibly organized, attentive, and always available to address any concerns we had. Anna's expertise and genuine care for our wedding day were evident in every interaction. We also collaborated with Xavier from Encore to ensure that everything looked stunning and was ready for our vendors.
The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking as we fell in love with all the details and artwork that thoughtfully went into the design and decor to really integrate the Arts District. When looking for venues, we really wanted to do both the ceremony and reception in one location to avoid travel, and I'm so glad we did because it rained most of the day of our wedding so everyone was able to stay dry and safe! Each aspect of the venue exceeded our expectations. The spaces are beautifully designed, and the ambiance was perfect for each part of our celebration.
We held the ceremony in the Flora Ballroom on 11, used the Harwood Foyer on 12 for the Cocktail Hour and Harwood Ballrooms A & B on 12 for the reception for about 225 people. We were able to use it for our rehearsal the night before, rented a Museum suite and the adjoining room to get ready, the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and we even stayed there the night before and the night of. Since we used the same suites we were staying in the night of the wedding to also get ready in, the staff was incredibly sweet and cleaned it up for us during the ceremony and reception so that it was clean and tidy when we got back, and they even left us a sweet note and celebratory treats.
Even 9 months later, we continue to receive compliments from our guests about how amazing the food was and how beautiful the venue is. The culinary team truly outdid themselves, providing a dining experience that was both delicious and elegantly presented. The service throughout the event was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and courteous at all times.
In summary, the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District is an exceptional wedding venue. The staff's incredible patience, attentiveness, and professionalism made our planning process smooth and our wedding day unforgettable. Alma, Anna, and Xavier, along with the rest of our incredible vendors, each played a crucial role in ensuring everything was perfect, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts. If you're looking for a venue that combines beauty, excellent service, and a dedicated team, we highly recommend the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District. Thank you for giving us our...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting the new JW Marriot Dallas Arts District Hotel in downtown Dallas with work colleagues, and upon entering we were greeted by the front desk agent, Ebony.
Ebony’s bubbly personality seemed to charge the atmosphere with good vibes and just behind her we saw the hotel’s lobby bar. When we asked if we could check out the bar’s drink menu, Ebony excitedly introduced us to the bartender at the lobby bar, Cory. First off, Cory and Ebony’s chemistry made us feel welcomed and almost anxious as if we were in for a show. These two employees just had that sort energy that made everything seem effortless. So, we saddled up to the bar, 800 North. To make clear this is the lobby bar’s formal name and a reference to the hotel’s address. Cory, highlighted one or two of the menus best-selling cocktails, but he must have sensed neither jived with us. So instead of just waiting for us to study the menu then tell him our order, Cory got to know us. Realizing the tequila old fashioned may be the menu’s highlight but not my cup of tea. He inquired about the spirits I enjoy and if I liked a spirit-forward cocktail or one with more effervescence. After I let him know I prefer vodka and cocktails more sweet and sour than spirit forward, he recommended a great spritz cocktail right off the menu. And I loved it. Now my colleague, a bit more stubborn with his mind made up on a whiskey sour, found himself off balance when Cory suggested a whiskey sour with egg white. I would never, but my colleague, after being hesitant at first, did enjoy it very much so and ordered two more. He made a perfect margarita for a friend who arrived later and with her first sip she sat up straight and said…damn that’s good.
Needless to say, a good time we had. It was a bit discouraging to see the place not too busy but a lot of people seemed to rush to the 11th floor which we did not have time to check out…the hotel's other restaurant and pool bar is up there.
We enjoyed our time at 800. The hospitality and service of Ebony and Cory and the other staff we encountered fell nothing short of expert. Their friendliness and camaraderie definitely made us eager to come back and get to know these characters. Cory’s confidence and knowledge behind the bar and Ebony’s charm and grace showed JW Marriott has rightfully earned its place in the Dallas Arts District. I can only hope my fellow Dallasites will welcome this establishment to show our appreciation for such a fine experience as provided by...
Read moreBrand new hotel! Stayed for the weekend and planned on just finding places to walk to or a quick uber to and this hotel met those needs. Rooms are spacious. Two "new to me" perks in a hotel - water filling stations on each floor and motion activated night light in the restroom!! LOL! It's the little things! The hotel is in an office building so as others have said, you enter on the ground floor that has a front desk and bar. You then take an elevator that goes to the 11th floor and you must get off to take a different elevator to your room. The 11th floor has their restaurant Margaret's and the skybar Vincent's which wraps around to the pool area. Pool area is very small so I can't imagine what it will be like during the summer! The 12th floor is where you'll find the Executive Lounge and gym. The gym has everything you would need for getting a workout in while staying at a hotel.
With our Marriott status, we were able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast as well as happy hour bites, although the beverages at the happy hour are on the honor system and you are asked to fill out a form so your room can be charged accordingly. Breakfast is what you would find at a typical higher end Marriott. Very attentive staff both days we stayed there. Breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, breads, meat, cheese, fruits, muffins, cereal, really nice custom coffee machine, juices. Happy Hour bites were chicken and waffle bites, veg samosa and Korean egg rolls and some other items like mini salads, cheeses, meats, veggies/dip. The second night consisted ofchicken puff pastry, stuffed mushrooms, and bacon wrapped apple bites. All the bites were really nice and the staff did a great job of replinishing with hot bites.
Again, we stayed here to walk to places. Klyde Warren park on a Saturday had several food trucks and a farmer's market set up. We also did the Katy Trail and grabbed lunch at the Katy Trail Icehouse. Just downstairs and outside from the hotel is 400 Gradi, Italian restaurant. HIGHLY...
