This place actually has really good food, however very strange set up. Being from out of town from a place where happy hour is literally a daily norm, I wouldnât recommend this place due the confusion, and not being able to have the same prices throughout the entire restaurant. we made a reservation in advance since we were a big party. When we sat we asked about the happy hour menu and were told that we needed to order drinks from that menu upstairs And couldnât order them at the table. Bizarre. So a few of us who wanted cocktails(instead of wine) went upstairs because the difference in the price between walking up stairs and staying down is about $7 before taxes. (Depending on the drink) We all wanted to eat together so we thought after we purchased drinks we could come all eat together. But my friends were prevented from coming down. They were told they couldnât bring drinks to the table and had to finish them, which wasnât told to us at all. I asked about it because that seems very odd. Itâs one restaurant. Why wouldnât we be able to order the same drinks inside the restaurant? Why would we need to walk upstairs for some of same drinks at the lower price when we planned to eat full entrees here? The manager explained they want different vibes upstairs that they want to maintain which I guess is cool except the drinks were in same glasses as downstairs, and the vibes between the 2 were similar except it a little open air. The manager was nice enough to allow us to bring 1 drink downstairs so our party could enjoy together, but by then our original server decided he didnât need to come by anymore and switched with Ashley (sheâs super amazing and helpful!!) and we could feel and hear the things being said about us by the rest of the staff so we decided instead of ordering entrees and more drinks , we would quickly grab something and head out. We were not being mean or difficult but this is the most confusing way to operate a restaurant. If you want people to understand how you are operating , there should probably be 2 completely separate names to the restaurant. Not everyone who goes to happy hour wants to sit on the roof. We should be offered the same prices at the table. And customers shouldnât have to go upstairs to save $7 on the same drink they could get at the table especially when they want to order full entrees. If thereâs a restriction the restaurant wants to place on happy hour it should be something similar to Happy hour drink prices included downstairs with the purchase of an entree or something. Customers shouldnât feel like they have to go 2 places just to get what theyâre looking for in the...
Read moreMy fiancĂ© and I went in today for our wedding planning dinner, right before a hard rainfall. There were six other seated guests- almost empty restaurant. The restaurant staff was standing around for ten minutes before noticing us. We were asked for the amount of people that were in our party. I responded with two. We waited another five minutes. That is after I listened to the hosts complain and chat about what they were doing after work. Even the bartenders ignored us. I shared with my fiancĂ© the only reason why we didnât leave was because it was storming. The host finally grabbed menus and walked us to the table directly behind a large dinner party. I couldnât help but notice that we were all African American so my guess was that she wanted us to all sit together. I requested for another table - one that was more intimate given that it was the two of us and other guests our size or smaller were towards the front with a view. We picked our own table and was immediately approached by a woman who could have been a waitress (she didnât identify herself and no name badges were worn) to ask about my dog who was in his dog bag. Then our waiter came. I asked for a glass of water with three lemons. He brought back the water with one lemon and no straws. We ordered the house pretzels with cheese, they came out and the cheese were cold. I never got my lemons and I had to ask for straws and appetizer plates so we can eat. I we ordered the mule and the grapefruit cocktail- cool. Entree I ordered the short rib and substituted the mushrooms for grilled onions because of my mushroom allergy and my fiancĂ© ordered the lobster pasta.
Our food came out. Mine was great. His was overwhelmed with lemon. Had huge chunks of asparagus, and baby peas in there with a half of lobster tail (disgusting and not worth the money. ) I told the waiter, he recommended more bread crumbles that he never brought to the table. At this point I was fed up with the blatant disregard of our President in this restaurant and wanted to leave. I asked for the bill to see that the onions that I asked for were added to our ticket for $10. Itâs not okay to blind charge a guest for anything but he did. To add icing to the cake, I overheard him telling the table next to us that heâs discounting their bill because it took the kitchen too long to bring their food when they arrived 30 minutes after we sat down my food being great, I will NEVER EAT HERE again . Hopefully gkj can see the cold cheese...
Read moreI've been to Henry a few times over the years and I think overall their service has gone down. It's not a dining experience I would expect from a nice place.
Valet - There was a wait for valet which is understandable due to them being busy on a Saturday evening. Once I got up to valet, the guy said they were short staffed and taking a while and told me to self park. I didn't mind that, however the issue is, when the car behind us got up to valet, they did not tell them that and they did valet for them. It happened to be my friend behind me. It seems like they pick and choose who to valet.
Reservations - My friend made a reservation and we got there a few minutes early and checked in. The hostess said they were running behind. I asked her for estimated wait time and she just said "I don't know when we'll seat you". It's understandable they may be a little behind especially during busy holiday season, but for her to just say that is not great service. It sounds like they don't manage their reservations and time well.
Seating - We finally got seated about 15 min after our reservation time. Our seating was on the covered patio. They seated us at a table that is right by the door that is constantly being opened so you're getting a breeze the whole time you're dining. In my opinion this is not a great dining experience. Whoever set that up didn't think about the customer experience. It seems like they were just trying to cram as many tables that they can.
Food & Drinks - $19 for an espresso martini... overpriced drink. It was a decent drink but it's overpriced for what it is. I had the short rib potstickers and those were good. I also tried the pretzel and provolone fondue and that was good. Our table mainly got appetizers and overall I think for the price they were good portions.
Rooftop - They started charging for the rooftop. I don't recall there being rooftop charges before.
The best part about the evening here was the coffee bar when you first walk in. The girl working that evening was so nice and provided great service. I don't remember her name but she had dark hair and tattoos. We ordered hot cocoa while waiting for our reservation. I hope she gets some recognition because she truly was the nicest and cared about...
