I wanted to love this place it’s close by and prices seemed reasonable. I also have been to the one that’s in lower Greenville area. Let’s start with the positives the staff was phenomenal. And the place was very clean/organized. We got queso and salsa. The queso was ok but the salsa was thick as in it looked like tomato paste. It was also quite sweet. There were no diced veggies like you see in other traditional salsas it had more the consistency of a hummus. I got a brisket taco (very sweet and oily). The fried chicken taco was burnt and tasted like it was made with old grease. And the spicy shrimp taco it tasted like it was soaked in spicy ketchup (I’m assuming they used the same recipe as the salsa tasted same just with a little kick). I didn’t finish a single taco and even let my husband try them. It was a no for him. He ordered chalupa combo however it was a flat fried tortilla aka a tostada. He said he tasted only refried beans than the ground sirloin. Lastly the rice that came with the combos was flavorless and was over cooked in one aspect and I simultaneously kept getting mouthfuls of hard either burnt or undercooked rice. Happy for those who love it, just...

Their front door says to leave a review so here it is. Can’t comment on the food since I wasn’t even able to place and order. Walked in on a Saturday at around 1pm and went straight to the register area to place an order. 2-3 employees in he immediate vicinity with No acknowledgement of me standing there in the order area. Manager is discussing personnel/shift with one worker while the third one chime in as well. Second manager walks up to the register and inputs something then immediately walks off without acknowledging me or even asking if I’ve been helped. At this point I turn around and leave since my business isn’t appreciated. Not greeting customers and discussing shift/personnel items/music choice in the restaurant in front of customers doesn’t seem like there’s great top down training going on. Went across the street to the other taco place and was greeted immediately and served my order...

I’ve lived in this location almost 22 years. When Taco Joint opened right next to my apartment I ignored it, I figured it was just another TexMex option, and discounted it. HOW DUMB! My daughter visited from NJ and we decided to walk over and try it out. YUM! It was delish!!! We had burritos- hers with shrimp, she is vegetarian, and mine with ground beef. They were STUFFED! HUGE!! We had chips and queso and margs. The queso was served warm and was soooo good - I bought some to take home with me! The margaritas were generous- NO skimping on the pour. WOW! You order when you first enter, go to a table ( large room - good for families as well) and a server will deliver to your table. Very good service when we were there, and also a very attentive manager. He gave us a card which I think comps us a special item on a (DEFINITE) future visit. We WILL be at Taco...

I ordered the Migas Taco on corn tortillas with a side of chopped lettuce and tomatoes. I also ordered a cheese enchilada with chili con carne. The salsa bar offered red salsa, green salsa, and a spicy ranch. The enchilada was too greasy and oddly presented in an aluminum tin. The Migas Taco was good with the paid addition of lettuce and tomatoes. The lady taking the orders behind the counter seemed annoyed and acted like she really didn't want to be there. I asked for water, but she never gave me a cup. I ended up getting it from the counter myself. The prices are very inexpensive, but I probably wouldn't eat here again based on my experience.

I got the Brisket Tacos and by the first bite, I knew I needed to post. The brisket tacos came in a white corn shell with avocado and lettuce and tomato on the side. The meat had an unexpected sweet flavor and was a tad too dry but overall quite tasty. You order at the register and then they bring you the food. Taco Joint has 3 options for salsa- salsa Roja which is medium spicy, tomatillo which is mild AF, and Jalapeño Ranch which is a slow burn. The place is clean, the music upbeat and the staff is friendly. 2 tacos cost about $10. I liked Taco Joint but it didn't quite scratch the itch for me. Worth a look.

Back in Big D from out of town for work and eased in to the Preston location today. The trip was fantastic, Yesenia was my cashier and the service was fast and excellent. I was greeted by both her and the GM (didn’t catch his name) but everyone was super friendly and my food came up quick. I used to live by the original location and today did not disappoint! So glad I stopped by, everything was top notch. Even the playlist was perfect and I ended up looking up a few songs for my own playlist. Thank you guys and gals so much, will def be back in next trip!! Cheers! Mike G.
