A Solo Seat Turned Full Experience
I walked into Town Hearth on a weeknight, not just for food, but for something worth remembering. The main dining room was packed, buzzing with energy, but I found a seat at the bar. That’s where the night really began.
Maddie was behind the bar, and from the start, she was more than just a bartender she became the guide behind one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. I told her I was visiting from Houston and wanted to see what the kitchen was proud of. She handled the rest.
We started with the meatballs tender, seasoned just right, and coated in a warm tomato glaze that struck the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Then came the tomato and burrata salad. The burrata was luxuriously creamy, and the tomatoes were bright, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite felt like peak summer.
For the main course, Maddie recommended the barbecue spice-rubbed Chilean sea bass. It was beautifully cooked, flaky and rich inside with a crisp, smoky exterior. The spice rub added warmth and just enough heat to keep things interesting. I paired it with a side of sautéed mushrooms, which brought an earthy depth that rounded out the plate perfectly.
Dessert is where the meal really turned into an experience. I couldn’t decide between two options, so Maddie brought both. The seven-layer red velvet cake was as indulgent as it sounds, moist layers of cocoa-kissed cake stacked with smooth cream cheese frosting, each bite more decadent than the last. The crème brûlée had that perfect caramelized top and a silky vanilla custard underneath. Both desserts were standouts in their own way.
I also appreciated the selection of low-proof and zero-proof cocktails, which added to the overall thoughtful feel of the menu.
I came in expecting a good meal. What I got was something more, a curated experience thanks to Maddie’s attention to detail, enthusiasm, and instinct for great food. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in Dallas, and I’ll be asking for a seat at the bar. Hopefully,...
Read moreFirst time visiting was tonight on 2/16. Had a wonderful experience all around. The lighting inside was perfect - dark enough to create a mood, bright enough to appreciate the colors on your plate.
My server was Gaspar- very polite, very resourceful, and made excellent suggestions (I asked more questions then I should have). One of the chefs special for the evening was a wonderful scallop dish that was as sweet as it was spicy- was recommended to me over the BBQ spice scallops which are permanently on the winter menu. My fiance ordered the Cobb Salad which was delightfully presented, not over dressed. The tomatoes on the salad were also exceptional, no corners cut in quality of ingredients which speaks volumes of the chef and management.
Drinks were strong and delicious. There were no issues with substitutions- I got a black mamba with Tito's instead of the Gin. Usually I get a hesitation when asking, but Gaspar assured me there was no issue whatsoever with my tiny request. It was greatly appreciated.
The meals we both selected were fantastic. I ordered a Filet Mignon cooked to a perfect medium (literally perfect, by definition), along with the shrimp scampi. Steak quality is definitely what you would expect at the price point, and the shrimp were large as they should be. My fiance ordered the Crab Bucatini which was delicious- you could tell it was hand made pasta (I even offered it to Eataly).
For my first time, I was truly impressed. Will definitely make my way here anytime I'm in the Dallas area. Very special place, with high quality food. Price points work there way up which I think makes this place a little more special then most high end restaurants- you can go on a date and "ball on a budget" so to speak. The table next to me got the cheeseburger and meatball and they also looked superb.
Lastly I would like to say ALL the staff there (e v e r y o n e) was fantastic, polite, energetic, and eager to make the dining experience as special as it was. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great...
Read moreDATE NIGHT! This is an outstanding place for date night. The ambiance is upscale yet intimate and relaxing. The walls are tastefully decorated with an ode to racing. The vintage convertible that separates dining from the kitchen is worth the trip alone for those who love cars. The wife and I had an absolute blast. The service was one of the best experiences we have had in Dallas. Our server Leanne was nothing short of amazing. She was so friendly and accommodating. However, the best part, and the reason to visit, it the food. We started with the Beef Carpaccio and Whitefish Hamachi. The Carpaccio with melt in your mouth goodness perfectly balanced a lightly dressed Arugula salad. The Hamachi had a nice clean taste for those who enjoy sushi or sashimi. They paired it with an orange sauce infused with jalapeno; delicious. For the mains, both the wife and I opted against the steaks. Not that there was anything wrong, it's just the two we got, were irresistible. She got the lightly fried Lobster a l'orange. The lobster was succulent and rich. She could have probably hurt herself, it was approximately 3 lbs., however, she opted to take a large portion home. I got the Medusafish. I've never heard of it before, so I thought it would be interesting. The fish was perfectly cook with crispy skin even though it was paired with a brown butter sauce. For those who have never heard of it, it's a meaty fish similar to Alaskan Cod. Again, the taste was nice and clean. Our sides were the Cacio de Pepe and the Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan. Both were equally good, however, I would give an edge to the Cauliflower. To round out our meal we got the chocolate cake with peanut butter chips and cranberries. A nice finish to a wonderful evening. When we return we will try one of the steaks. They looked and smelled enticing. All in all, I would...
