Sessions Restaurant — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

I don't normally review anything. When in Daytona, I suppose. The restaurant has a great location. The interior is classy and nicely set. The outside is even better, beach view and all. The serving staff are friendly and do their best to please. The kitchen is a nightmare. I ordered crab cakes to start. They came quickly and were not bad. Not worth the $14, but pretty good. Juicy with a nice exterior. The sauce to go with it helped. Midway through, I get my main. The lamb chops. This is where it all goes downhill. A main sent while you are still eating an appetizer is an issue already. I hurry to my lamb chops so they don't get cold. I was asked prior what temp I would like, mid rare being my choice. The first two chops are well done. I can tell they have been marked off earlier and then finished. These two were older. The other two lamb chops were blue going on rare, if I am generous. Ramsey shouting " The lamb is RAW" is all I could think. The broccolini was old and overcooked and the mash is definitely microwaved to order. All for the stunning price of $26. The couple at the table behind me received a cold and raw burger minutes after I asked for a refund. I would have eaten the well done lamb chops and bit the cost. But when you have that much difference in a plate, it says a lot. As a Chef, I would never send that out. Wow just wow! From the moment we parked we were amazed by the beauty of the hotel. Everywhere you walk from the walls to the floor to the bathroom to the doors everything was extremely clean. My husband's uncle who is like his father to him, had a near death experience in ICU for a month and his wish was to see the Ocean again ( hasn't been to the beach in over 30 years). Well I made sure that happened this father's day. Man did this place not disappoint! The view was absolutely stunning. Our waiter Alejandro aka Bad bunny at the sessions was the perfect example of what every waiter should be. He was attentive, caring and has some skills on taking great pictures lol thanks to his sister. Our food was to die for. The amount of food you get for the price is soo worth it. When I tell you the meat was perfect, juicy and fulfilling it was the best I've had in a long time. All the employees were happy and made this first time experience even better. Shout out to Crysle and Only who even posed for my pictures, I loved their positive energy & vibe 😎. I have 5 kids and when I say this hotel is kid friendly I mean it. The Hard Rock Roxity aka the youth club is the coolest kid hang out spot. Everything in this place was well thought out. I promise you, your kids will love it. Even the toddlers. My kids age range from 3 to 16. The rooms are also beautiful & spacious. 20 thousand stars! Will most definitely come again.

My boyfriend & I made a reservation for outdoor seating because it was our 5 year anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere “nice” to drink & watch the sunset. We get there and we were told we didn’t have a reservation in the system. And the host said that even if we did make a res there’s no outdoor seating because there’s an event going on tonight and no one can be sat out there anyway. I was about to show the host my call log to show we did in fact call to reserve a table when she found my reservation on a freaking sticky note next to the computer that said my name, outdoor dining for 2. She offered us a table inside so we sit down & were greeted by the server she brings us our waters & didn’t come back. We sat there for about 15 minutes before we decided to just leave, cause it’s rare we can go on vacation and i didn’t want to spend our anniversary here anymore. And I informed the server as we were leaving and apologized for wasting her time. So we go out to valet and we’re told we need the valet paper stamped. My bf goes back inside and the same host from earlier said “technically I can’t stamp your ticket because you didn’t eat here, but I’ll let it slide for today” We quickly found a new restaurant to be able to enjoy the last little bit of sunset and it was great.
