We had a negative experience at Poke Perfect in downtown decatur. The menu pricing was confusing, so I asked the woman working behind the poke bar how much a sushiritto costs. She said she didn't know and guessed. When I was ordering, the server told me to stop talking because she was busy putting her gloves on and said she couldn't be expected to remember what I was ordering. The server would periodically ignore me while making my sushi burrito (even though the restaurant was almost empty).
I asked for sauce and she refused to put any in the burrito ("we don't do that.") Both servers really took their time making our food and took forever to cash us out, fiddling with the phone and not really paying attention. I asked for a receipt and the server indicated it would be too much of an inconvenience ("oh, did you want one? I guess I could stop what I'm doing and print one out... if you want it"). The servers wrapped our burritos in foil, and we couldn't tell which was whose. The server didn't know either and didn't care. We were kinda thirsty, but water was really expensive ($2.50 for a little box of water) so we skipped it.
The quality of food was awful. My husband and I found our sushi burritos bland and very small, especially for $12-13. We tried dipping it into the cups of sauce but the contents fell out because it wasn't wrapped tightly. Even with the ponzu, it was still tasteless and not filling. We were running late to a show and had to stop at a gas station to get more food because we were still hungry.
Overall, it was a waste of money, the staff were rude and not knowledgeable about their own product, and the food was awful. The sad thing is, there used to be a nice little...
Read moreThis place was great! The fish was very fresh and tasted amazing! I had the Large Portion and it came with 4 different protein options. I chose the salmon, tuna, spicy tuna and the scallops. There are also cooked options like chicken, etc.... I also chose the kale noodles vs the salad option.....because I never tried the kale noodles before. I added the spicy orange colored topping as well as the garlic topping.
Another great suprise, was that you can get Boba (Milk Tea) here as well! I went with the taro flavor!(& added the tapioca pearls(boba) ) Pro Tip: You are allowed to control the amount of ice and the amount of sweetness for some of the boba drinks. (Not all.....so always ask if you are curious) Being an avid Boba drinker, I always choose to control my amounts. At most places, I ask for 30%Ice..... and 30 or 50% Sweetness, depending on the place. If you are new, I suggest you just try it the way it normally comes....before you try to tweak the sweetness.
My lady friend and I sat at one of the tables outside. It was a nice day and good if you are a little worried about COVID. I don't believe inside dining was available at the time of this review.
I will...
Read moreWe live across the street and have been anticipating the arrival of Poke Perfect. They delivered on quality and freshness. We have already been there twice this week! I am celiac and Hunter showed me how to access the "Safe ingredient" list online. The employee's aren't very confident on which items are Gluten Free- so check ahead if you have food allergies. I like my bowls SPICY and was surprised that they did not offer a free cup of water. I was forced to purchase a "box of water" for 2 dollars plus some change- when I only needed a sip to put out the marvelous fire in my mouth. They have a wide selection of veggies and toppings to choose from if you choose to design your bowl (which I have done both times). However, the addition of brown rice as a base would be my Christmas wish. My husband is not a raw fish eater and was satisfied with the Southern Bowl (smoked chicken, sweet potato, white corn, tomato, mandarin oranges and green onion). I snapped a picture of his because I had already...
