Service: Quick, and waiter was so polite and willing to answer questions about dishes. I got here about 2, and was seated with a drink within 5 minutes of entering.
Menu: Everything has what's in it, even if shown multiple times (like rolls that are on the lunch plates). Love how the lunch plates come with a free appetizer. They do have stuff for kids, and people that don't eat sushi (like ramen/soups/teriyaki/salads/hibachi). All drinks are bottled/canned, minus the teas (green/jasmine). The tea comes with a small ramekin of honey, and a lemon wedge.
Plating: Very pretty, especially with the lunch plates.
Pricing: Fairly reasonable, with the exception of a few items (being the sushi combos).
Decor: Good, but a little shocking when first walking in or out due to differences in lighting level.
Overall opinions: I would love to come back, plus it is right by where I work. Meaning, I can just walk to it. Overall, I was very pleased with how friendly the staff is and how my experience was when it came to dining. This is one of the only dining options at the Deer Park strip center, and would love to keep...
Read moreAfter reading the recent review I figured I would give this place a shot. When I walked in it was fairly busy. Due to their loud music guests were talking much louder than one would expect in a restaurant just to be heard. It had a club vibe that wasn't appealing. This should have gotten me to turn around immediately, but I figured I wwoul tough it out and not be the lame guy that I really am. I really really wish I had left. I ordered the mixed appetizer plate and rainbow roll. The appetizer plate was horrible. The egg rolls were mushy and gross. The crab cheese puffs were flavorless. The Gyoza, which traditionally is made with pork or shrimp was made from chicken and tasted bland. All of this was served with what I assume was supposed to be a sweet and sour sauce. It too was gross. The roll was beautifully presented and looked very appetizing. However the fish tasted old (not inedible, but old) and was room temperature.
I most certainly...
Read moreThis was my first visit. They had a large menu, lunch specials, a good variety of dishes. I got a to go sushi roll only this time, although I changed my mind 4-5 times before she came to take my order lol. Lots of things sounded good. I would have given them a 5 star, but it was supposed to have tempura shrimp and I saw not a one. The rice was warm however, although there were no other cooked ingredients. That being said the flavor was great, although they only served 6 pieces and other restaurants and other rolls typically serve 8. I'm assuming only 6 because of the shrimp, which I would have been satisfied with had I seen them. I'd give them another shot though but wouldn't order that...
