Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

I've ordered here for many years and I've finally pushed myself to write this review. In regards to the food, I've tried a number of things and they all truly taste delicious. I personally recommend the pasta with sausages or the subs. There is an overload of sausage and melted cheese on it, and it's overall very tasty. The subs are quite delicious as well, unlike what you typically find in other restaurants. I'd like to mention they're very generous with the cheese and toppings, and this has been consistent.

Overall I greatly recommend Hungry Howie's if you see something you're interested in on the menu. It ranks high on my list of restaurants for Italian type dishes. Be sure to order ahead and give it at least 15 to 20 minutes before going to pick up. The second part of this review is in regards to the owners of this store. I see them during the lunch hours. They are very personable and greet with a smile everytime they see you. They will recognize you over time and already know exactly what you ordered. The owner was especially kind one day and offered a free soda with my food. Although I respectfully declined, I appreciated the gesture and that just overall contributes to my good experience at this location. It was late at night, and we were searching for a place to eat. As usual, we couldn’t make up our minds. Then my boyfriend spotted Hungry Howie’s, which brought back a flood of memories for him. He started reminiscing about how he used to eat there every day during college and how much he loved it. I had never tried it before, so I decided to give it a shot. It didn’t disappoint. The pizza, especially with the seasoned crust, was amazing. I don’t even remember what kind of crust we ordered. The cheese bread was incredibly soft, light, and perfectly seasoned. I also ordered the chicken bacon sub, expecting a regular sub, but it turned out to be like a calzone—and it was delicious.

Mason took our order and patiently listened to my boyfriend's nostalgic stories about his college days at Hungry Howie’s. If you haven't experienced Hungry Howie's you don't know what you're missing..The pizza, salads, apps, desserts are all so delicious! The owner is the kindest, most generous man around. He supplies several local schools with pizza and more when they have special events like...teacher appreciation, dances, class parties etc. Always providing lots of food at very fair prices and personally delivering it as well. I love that he is a huge supporter of our community. I can't thank him enough. So happy I recently moved here and stopped by for an amazing pizza to support this wonderful business.
