I was really looking forward to bringing my Colombian mom to Parva, but our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The food was flavorful and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service was inconsistent.
Our server, Juan, was very attentive with many of his other tables, especially with what seemed like regular guests, but unfortunately our table didn’t receive the same attention. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and two entrées, yet while drinks and food were coming out within minutes for other tables, ours took noticeably longer. I even had to remind Juan about our pitcher, and the margaritas didn’t arrive until after our food was already served. When the food came, the Bandeja Paisa and Latin Bowl had good flavor, but both dishes were only slightly warm—as if they had been waiting. The Latin Bowl trio also leaned heavily on chicken, with just a couple of shrimp and churrasco pieces.
The restaurant had a good crowd but wasn’t so busy that it felt impossible to keep up, which made the lack of check-ins harder to overlook. We even had to ask the food runner for basics like salt.
Parva has so much potential—the ambiance is inviting and the flavors are authentic. With more consistency in service across all tables, I could see this becoming a favorite spot. I’d be open to giving it another try and hope this feedback helps...
Read moreI would’ve given this place zero stars if possible. I was excited to visit this restaurant for the food, aesthetic, and overall service, but I was disappointed with all of it from my experience.
I came in with my family to enjoy some appetizers, desserts from the bakery, and drinks. Upon arrival, I let the hostess know that we wouldn’t be ordering full entrees but still planned to dine and enjoy what the restaurant had to offer. Despite this, we were immediately sat at a small table in the corner—partially behind the bar, right next to a sink full of dirty dishes, and only steps away from the restroom.
When I expressed concern about the location of our table, I was told we couldn’t move because the other tables were reserved for people who were “actually ordering food.” Mind you, the restaurant was nearly empty when we walked in. We still spent over $70 on our food and drinks, yet we were treated as if we didn’t deserve to sit anywhere else simply because we weren’t ordering full meals.
This was, without a doubt, the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. The treatment we experienced was unacceptable, and I will never be coming back. Truly disappointing and frustrating. Avoid this place...
Read moreAfter eating in many different Colombian from New York to Miami and all in the middle had one issue unfortunately. The Chicharron looks to be refried, but the meat was tougher than the skin, that’s not a normal thing for an expert on Chicharron. Have to say, the service is great and the manager was quick to exchange it for one in a better condition but still you can tell. I give this restaurant 3 stars, but will come back and try again in a month or two. I love Colombian food, and don’t mean to be a hard critic, but the Chicharron is one of their main dishes and it has to be perfectly cooked or close. Hope to change my review for a more positive one on my next visit. FYI this was on day 4 of their Soft Opening.
4/14/2024 Update! They fixed the food quality issue, but not there yet. I ordered a coffee (tinto), and they want to charge me extra for cream, not to mentioned it was cold. I also ordered a Picada for 2 but wanted to charge me for chimichurri. Like really with a Picada??? Never heard of such a thing..
Definitely only come here when I’m have no...
