Bread & Buttercream Bakery — Restaurant in Delaware

I ordered my wedding cake from them. We did a tasting and made an order, i even had a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like. I emailed them the address for delivery and they texted me to confirm that the cake would be delivered but 4:30pm. They called me at 3:20 the day of my wedding because according to the person on the phone no one wrote down the address. Well when we got to the restaurant..... No cake. So i called and texted and finally got a text back with excuses and was told my cake was on the way. My cake didn't make it to the restaurant until after 6pm. We had a small wedding because my mom had died recently and it was very hard for me. By the time the cake got there some of the few guests i had were gone. When it did get there it was nothing like the picture i showed them nor did it taste like the samples we tried. They didn't seem to care at all about what was going on and never even called me. I had to text them many time's and could never get any real information. My husband and i have made two posts on there Facebook page that somehow keep getting removed. If you actually want your cake at your wedding don't get it here. They treated us horribly and don't care how sad and angry I was on my wedding day. I paid the price you quoted me for the cake and i was told to email you information by kate. No one from your business ever contacted me and your list of excuses is insulting because you never had the nerve to call me. You are unprofessional. I will be calling the better business bureau on Monday. Thanks for your rude attitude after everything. It's interesting your only responding now because you can't delete this review like you did...

1st to be clear I had the highest expectations of this place based on reviews. Would've been a 4 star review if I just wondered in. I ordered a B-Day cake for my daughter & they werent sure at 1st if they could split a large cake (half chocolate half vanilla - after my wife called back they said they could. And did). The cake was a decent size but its half the cost at Wegmans for a similar size. We had it customized with a design and a Happy Bday message. Those were below expectations (writing was sloppy etc.. a few ppl mentioned maybe the cake was frozen and thawed which wouldn't help - they had a month to make it). Also the cake was a bit dry. The icing was delicious but for close to $90 I was expecting it to be the best cake I ever had. I also purchased peanut butter & chocolate chip cookies... PB was ok... CC was better. Ordered slices of their tomatoe pie type pizza and that was average as well.. a bit doughy. All this being said they were all nice.. although the girl up front seems a bit not knowing of what things are and what they can/cant do, very pleasant though. I would recommend and I'll prob. give them another try down the...

I love this adorable little bakery. They certainly do a lot from croissants, cookies, cakes, macaroons, and bread to tomato pie! Everything I’ve had from here has been delicious- I especially love their tomato pie and macaroons! Recently, I ordered a cake and the carrot cake with the cream cheese buttercream was so amazing I had to post this review. For me, a person who likes desserts with balance and that aren’t over the top sweet, I find their cake and icing to be perfect. Get a cake you won’t be disappointed!

Adding to this review as we just celebrated another birthday with a bread and buttercream cake and this was the best one yet! My daughter loves strawberry so it was a strawberry cake with strawberry butter cream and strawberries inside and out. Absolutely delicious cake and so cute. And pink! See pics.

Came back to say once again I got another outstanding cake from B&B. Carrot cake with the cream cheese buttercream for my son’s 2nd bday. It was sensational! Soooo good.
