My fiance was recommended to visit this establishment from a very close family friend. He met with the president, Chryssa, and had a pleasant experience in designing my engagement ring. I, on the other hand, have not had similar experiences with the president since our engagement 7 months ago. I visited Continental last week for a ring cleaning and had the opportunity to discuss my wishes for my ring to be re-set from a low setting to a high setting. My concerns were that the beautiful diamond my fiance chose was not being displayed to it's utmost ability and I also am unable to purchase the wedding band of my choice because the setting forces me to purchase a band with a curve in it. Rather than being responded with understanding, I was responded with complete and utter disrespect. She took the time to list all the reasons as to why I shouldn't re-set the ring due to potential damages, continued to tell me the limited amount of customers that have ever asked her to alter one of her designs, and suggested I take the time to think on this more. I heard her concerns, but we had insurance for said potential damages and I also didn't want to continue wearing a ring that I wasn't happy with for the remainder of our lives. I asked if she had any high-set, rings in store that I could try on and determine from there and she arrogantly waived her arms and said, "Does it look like I have rings in this store?". I took that as sarcasm given it was, in fact, a jewelry store. However, she surprisingly was very much so serious and didn't have a single ring in store that I could try on, suggesting that I purchase something elsewhere to determine if I like the high-setting. After sharing this experience with my fiance, he was angered thinking that she was only kind to him because he had a credit card in hand and would share this encounter with our close family friend immediately. She even sent us a wedding card! Right before my wedding, my engagement band broke, but I didnāt have enough time to get it in and fixed before my wedding. Soon after my wedding, I brought it in to get fixed and get more gold added. I also wanted to make my wedding ring a bit bigger. I hated to be without both rings, but I knew Continental would make them perfect for me, as they have with my other jewelry they have fixed. I was told approximately two weeks for the repairs. During this time, my step-son suddenly passed away. It was a terrible accident that left us shocked and so sad. While planning his arrangements, I was near Continental and I called to see if my rings were ready. I happened to get Chrysa on the phone when I called. She checked and they werenāt ready yet I burst out crying and went into the whole tragic story of what happened to my step-son and how I just wanted my rings for the funeral. Chrysa made sure my rings were finished that day. Not only that, she got in her car on a Friday night and drove my rings up to where I live in Pennsylvania. She stayed and talked to me and hugged me. When I began searching for an engagement ring for my fiancƩe I was extremely nervous that I was going to be talked out of my budget and have a very impersonal experience.
Instead I was met with an amazing experience where Chrysa always presented me the options, gave me the pros and cons, and let me make the decisions. She didnāt try to upsell me, but rather always worked her hardest to allow me to meet my needs. Sheās so nice that we would even sometimes just sit there chatting after I had made decisions.
I ended up getting an amazing engagement ring and went back with my fiancƩe to get our wedding bands. My fiancƩe loved the experience as well!
The appointment format was also great as it felt more individualized and allowed you to really get the undivided attention you hope for when making such a big decision.
