I've been occasionally visiting El Diablo for probably 7+ years. I've always had a good enough experience at various locations, including this one, until recently. This location has gone way downhill over the last year.
The last couple of burritos bowls from here have been... off. Two of them weren't particularly good but at least they were hefty. The one I just ate was skimpy, pathetic and soaking wet. That was the first time I've ever had the bowl rip while taking it out of the bag. I always take it home so it's not like it was a time issue.
Speaking of issues - let's talk about the service. I don't need exceptional service but situations like this are annoying: I'm halfway through placing an order for two burrito bowls when the employee at the front of the line interrupts me to allow a couple to cut in front of me. Just let me finish placing my order. There was one guy behind me in line. If that couple wanted to wait on chicken to get restocked then they can wait until I'm done placing my order. Luckily, I had enough patience to not make a scene.
Anyways, that was my final visit to the Branmar...
Read moreI politely suggested to the slovenly worker whose job it was to put orders together that he & his fellow taco-technicians keep the disgusting used rags they use to wipe down the food prep area as well as any other surface within arms reach, OFF of and AWAY from the food prep area as keeping them there is an extremely bad look and definitely is not a sanitary practice given that the workers regularly drop the rags on the disgusting floor. He replied that he was trained to do it their way and I replied that the training protocol needs to be updated immediately. All that said, it brought a big smile to my face about a year later when I noticed that the Branmar location had been temporarily shut down by the Health Dept. or whatever. Took a while but they got what they deserved. I don't eat there anymore since the aforementioned incident sad. It was decent food as long as u dont...
Read moreEl Diablo Burritos is another Mexican restaurant in the same mold as Chipotle and Qdoba. I unfortunately didn't care for it as much as either of the more well known chains. The pork tacos we're ok and the portion solid but the meat was surprisingly bland. I was also a little surprised they did not have hard shells for tacos but just flour or corn tortillas. Not the end of the world but a surprise none the less. My daughter got her usual chicken tacos which she seemed to like well enough but I was shocked at the paltry amount that was put in the shell and I was also surprised that the chicken was more expensive than the pork. On the plus side my wife ordered the House taco salad and she loved it. Thought the ingredients we're very fresh. All in all not bad, but if I had my choice among the three chains I would choose El...
