I’ve been coming to the Green Owl for years. I was very upset when they lost their space on Atlantic to Capital One and their bank/Juice Café. But good things come to those who wait! Back strong for the last few years, they’re back less than a block from where they were. If ever there was a 4.6 star review that should be pure fives, the Green Owl is it! I highly recommend the “Big Breakfast,” which is my go-to and today I’m going to venture out of my comfort zone and take the steak and eggs special. I’m told that Dave (Dave Gensman) says if you don’t like it, he’ll buy it—but I can absolutely guarantee that’s not gonna happen – – I’ll even come back and change my review if it does, ha ha! I brought my best friend here when he left his Job in Washington. Dave must be a great employer given that at least two of the waitresses that served me the very first couple of times I went to the restaurant on Atlantic, are still with him at least 10 or 15 years later – – even given the fact that he had to close up for a good bit of time when he lost his space. Here’s my steak and eggs, medium rare as I ordered, and yep, even better than expected! Last food comment: This is one of the ONLY (maybe the only) breakfast restaurants still offering has browns! Tired of “Home Fries?” Me too (although they have that as an option too)! And did I mention the most reasonable prices in all of Delray! Hands-down, my verdict: this is the best breakfast restaurant in Delray Beach, Florida! Period.

Finally visited this location and was happily surprised it was better than the Boynton location. This store has a different energy. Probably due to its location right off Atlantic Avenue; gives it a more upbeat feel-just a livelier, hot spot kind of place. (And I was there for it all). Out of the dozens of breakfast places my companion and I have been to, this place has exactly what he always wants. 3 eggs, bacon, and pancakes. He doesn’t eat home fries, grits or any other sides. So he got those items and was happy. So was I with the price. I naturally had the eggs Benedict cuz I try every restaurant’s. This was a close second to one place in Boynton (and Lantana). I got grits w it and well, they’re grits. I added a blueberry pancake to my breakfast and I will say it was the best I’ve ever had. We both really liked our meals. The prices were extremely reasonable and very fair. The service was a little slow, but once we got going we were fine. I’ll be going to this location again as it’s bright, cheerful and affordable.

No one asks if there are gluten free options and thats just great. No one is on their phone taking selfies or snapchatting, there is no obnoxious hipster music playing. The staff is friendly. Pick your omlet enjoy the one option of black coffee. It's just that simple. Normally not a fan of "cash-only" places, but this one has found it way into my grumpy heart. It's a small escape from loud noises, nasty, indecisive, whiny, bougie, self-indulgant, arrogant, entitled, rude human drones that cant seem to pull their faces out of the screen that will ultimately be their demise to look up and say "please", "thank-you", "excuse me". To sum it up, Ron Swanson would eat here. If the Green Owl were to find this review detrimental to their business, I would be ok with them taking it down.

THIS PLACE IS JUST GROSS! My first impression walking into this place was that it needs a serious cleaning! This place is DIRTY and smells old and moldy. A friend had picked me up a breakfast sandwich from there a few days ago, and it was your typical breakfast, nothing too special but it was good. a few days later, I placed a phone order to go pick up. Like I said, first impression of walking in was "I definitely don't want to eat anything from this dump" however I walked up to the counter as I already place the order. More problems at the counter. The waitress was rude and the total for the order was a different amount I paid just 3 days ago for the exact same breakfast. What do they just make up the prices as they go???? Here's the kicker. THEY ONLY TAKE CASH! Who does that now a days? that's poor business especially when there are 5 more breakfast cafe's within eye's view. What a dump...can't even afford to invest in credit card processing? Why are you on the AVE?? And why on earth would anyone ever choose...
