The sushi is wonderful and incredibly fresh. I also love the chicken crunch salad and overall the food is always 5 stars in my experience. The service leaves something to be desired though. I’ve been a Blue Sushi customer for years and first started going to the numerous Dallas metro locations. It’s my favorite sushi chain and I was delighted when I learned there was one here in Denver so coming for another birthday was a no brainer, as this was my tradition at the Dallas location. I made a note on the reservation about the birthday we were celebrating and made a seating request with it that the hostess didn’t bother to read and she tried to seat us in a different area than I requested despite having numerous tables open where I wanted. No big deal, she was very sweet and made the correction but this may have led to the lack of communication to our server about the birthday. Once we informed the server and asked about a candle or anything special that could be added with the dessert we wanted, one was added, we really enjoyed it, and all was well. The issue arose with the bill when we saw the dessert charge on there and just asked our server if birthday celebrations are different here in Denver, planning to pay for it of course, but just curious about special occasions at this Denver location, and the server said “sometimes we take off the dessert for birthdays and sometimes we don’t. So I’ll do it for you this time” and overall just seemed very annoyed. Maybe she has to pay for the dessert herself, I have no idea. But was a rude damper to the evening.
I love Blue Sushi, loved the food again tonight, and will continue to come, but probably not for another special occasion and may just do pickup for awhile. I’ve never had that reaction for a birthday and if she thought I was lying, she did check my ID at the beginning of the meal with my drink order which does state as such for my...

This was our first time here, and even though our first impression was a bit soured by the hostesses, we were happy with everything else!
We got sat right up at the sushi bar, which is a first for us, and I have to say, it's the best spot! So we were excited right off the bat! Our server was AMAZING! Cannot speak highly enough of her! Not only did she recommend some favorites when we asked, but she also went above and beyond with other drink combinations based on what we were looking at! Excellent service! She was also very accommodating when my first drink didn't taste like I had hoped, which is/was a relief! She got it swapped out for something much tastier with no hassle at all!
Food was SO GOOD! I highly recommend the Charred Edamame and the Godzilla Bomb! There was definitely no lack of spicy flavor with all the options we had and even though we ordered some rolls that had a kick, everything was done perfectly and not over powering! I also highly recommend the nigiri! If you're familiar with nagiri, sometimes the rice isn't quite compact enough to stay together when picked up or dipped into soy sauce, but the nigiri here stays together and so does the rice! Excellent options if you're in the mood for that! We did not order any sashimi, but I'm sure that option is also very good just based on what we experienced!
Drinks were very good, I highly recommend the China Doll and if you fancy a non-alcoholic drink, the Dragon Fruit Lemonade! The dessert menu was also great, I'm always a fan of the Mochi Ice Cream, so try the Expresso and Mango flavors!
Overall, we had a great experience here and I'm very happy we decided to give it a try! Prices for everything are very reasonable! If you're looking for a great sushi place with a modern atmosphere,...
