I see some reviews on here that (I'm fairly certain) are from people that work here...the rooms could never EVER be perfect or even accommodating to a family of 4. My husband and I stayed here and literally had trouble walking around the room with the 2 of us and our luggage. There is no robotic bartender; it's more like an espresso machine. There is no closet or anywhere to hang your clothes, and the shower is so inappropriate, it's set up more like a one-night stand type of room. We have been to many hotels, and thought this would be a really cool place to stay while in Denver for a few days...other than the fantastic location, the Nativ Hotel is absolutely awful.
We were travelling for 12 days, and decided to spend the last 3 in Denver. Upon arriving at 3:30 pm, we waited for the front desk guy to "check that our room was ready", which was a little odd, but he came back down several minutes later and proceeded to take our luggage upstairs. We were starving, having been on a plane for 3 hours, airport, train, etc. and we were exhausted. After he left, we realized that the beautiful hardwood floors were disgusting. Neither swept nor vacuumed, there was dirt, hair, dust, EVERYWHERE. Not just one or two spots; the entire room. Assuming the cleaning staff forgot (which is understandable), I called downstairs. Same guy answered, said "housekeeping was gone for the day", (which I didn't know actually happened at a hotel) but that he would bring a mop upstairs and take care of it. I also asked for an iron and ironing board, which he said he would bring as well.
We were gone for about 2 hours. We came back to find a corporate event going on in the hotel lobby. We were asked for ID or our hotel key card to show we were actually guests here (as opposed to party crashers, I guess??)...the "bouncer" let us in, we went upstairs and the room looks identical as it did when we left. Dirty floors, no iron, no ironing board. We are both starting to get annoyed at this point, as nothing is going smoothly. My husband calls downstairs and the same guy answers the phone...swears he came and swept the floor. Not mopped, which is what he said to me the first time, but whatever....he sounded frustrated, and said he would be back upstairs.
He came back while I was in the bathroom, and was banging around the room frantically with a broom and dustpan, sweeping little pieces here and there, and was "done" in less than 1 minute. I mean, the rooms are tiny, but it should take someone longer than 60 seconds to thoroughly sweep. I had to wait in the hall because I was livid at this point. He came out of the room, huffing and making sounds indicating that he was unhappy about having to do the job that he should have done correctly already. Never once did he apologize for the experience, or make any sort of attempt to make us feel like we should feel when paying $250 a night to stay in a room the size of my closet. When I confronted him about his attitude, he said that he informed the front desk manager of our situation, that he was very busy with the party downstairs, and that he had swept and mopped the floor the first time we asked, which was an absolute blatant lie. I took pictures after he left the second time, (meaning the floors should have been cleaned 3 SEPARATE TIMES BY NOW) and there was STILL hair, pieces of dirt, and dusty debris allll over the floor. We would have left if we had anywhere else to go.
When we called the next morning at 10 am to order room service, we were told that the chef didn't show up, so they couldn't cook, and they would call back. We got the call at 1:30pm, asking if we still wanted to order food. Utterly ridiculous.
They're trying really hard to be a "chic, boutique spot", but it really seems like this place has multiple personality disorder....is it a hotel? Beer garden? Restaurant/bar? Club/lounge?? I understand (and love) the concept, but the execution was so poor, everything looks nice but in reality, it's a very...
Read moreThis review will be long but worth the read as I will share with you everything that we went through at this hell-hole “hotel” ||||We stayed at the Nativ “hotel” from September 22nd-26th and it was the worst mistake we made on this trip. ||||We were met at the front desk with a new manager and new front desk girl who instead of charging my credit card $100 for “incidentals” (it doesn’t mention any of this on their website or at the time of payment) they charged my card $800. Immediately they realized their mistake and apologized and “voided” the charge. ||||Upon arrival the room was clean and organized/no complaints on this. The balcony was dirty and there were blunts & joints everywhere. In the 5 days we were at this hotel our room was only “cleaned” once. We had to constantly call the front desk (from our cellphones because the phones in the room do not work) and ask for towels, toilet paper, water, bedsheets. I say “cleaned” because all the housekeeper did was tuck the bed back in! Did not change any of the sheets or replace the bathroom garbage. They have a nice keypad by the door that you click on when you don’t want anyone to disturb you or when you need house keeping. This does not work, they have no way of knowing what you click on which means you have to wait inline at the front desk to ask them to clean your room and sometimes (like it happened to us everyday) they still won’t clean your room because they’re “short staffed” or the house keeper left already. ||||We booked this hotel specifically because it’s 420 friendly (even though you can only smoke in the balcony which doesn’t sound appetizing in 9* degree weather) and it’s right on downtown as well as having a club right downstairs to enjoy your nights specially if you’re new to the city. Well if you happen to leave the hotel on a Friday or Saturday night around the time the club has opened which I believe is 11pm you will have to wait in line (with all the other people waiting to enter the club) to be allowed into your room. Security legit did not let my husband and I go to our rooms until a line of people went inside the club. We complained about this to one of the many “managers” who work there (and constantly drink on the job) and she said that security should not have done that but that they are “trying their best” ||We had 4 friends come visit us and were harassed constantly by security at the front desk and one of my friends was told he couldn’t enter because his outfit (sweatpants + t-shirt + a jersey) was not up to their dress code!? Since when do hotels have a dress code for you to visit people in their rooms? ||||On their website it says that it allows you to bring pets which is super cool but no where on there does it say that the front desk “managers” will have their pets with them. One of them had a chiwawa who barked all day at everyone. ||||Back to the $800 that they accidentally charged me, today makes 5 days and still no money back. In these 5 days they have told me any and every excuse known to man from “we’ve already refunded you 2 payments of $540” LIES to “we refunded you the money before you arrived at the hotel because we realized our mistake” 🤔🤔 how? ||I had to end up calling chase and filing a fraud charge to be able to get the money refunded to my account.||||This hotel is in a great location in downtown very close to everything but the management here runs this place like a club that has rooms for rent instead of a hotel that also has a club. ||No one is profesional or helpful. ||||I do not recommend the Nativ...
