It is very clearly written on the website that this hotel is more than happy to valet oversize parking offsite. I even called ahead and asked, and I was told I would be notified if there would be any issue before my arrival which I was not. Upon arrival, the very nice man at check out told us that because I pre-paid through expedia, he was unable to refund the $110 i paid for parking and is also unable to adjust the cost of the stay so in order to compensate us, he give us a $110 credit to the room in the form of a food credit In order to “refund” us for the $110 that we pre-paid for parking… I still ended up paying that money and we were not planning to spend that money at the hotel had we not been issued that credit. He also decided to waive the $60 destination amenity fee because of that massive inconvenience and the fact that I was lied to by whoever I spoke to on the phone the week prior when I called ahead and asked to double check about the parking. Thats solid. So at this point TOTAL I have only “saved” the $60 destination amenity fee….. BUT I still had to go spend $84 total for paid public parking 2 blocks away and had to walk to go refill daily. So that’s a total of $24 more than I was saved by them waving the destination amenity fee. So at this point I still spent the $110 that I paid for parking at the hotel in the form of food that we didn't plan on getting. I did not receive the hotel parking I paid for, and even though the destination amenity fee was waived as a very well should have for this inconvenience. I'm still in the hole and extra $24 for the parking. We got to our room, got changed, went to chez maggay to use the dining credit that I still paid for we got into the room after diner, I stepped on a broken shard of glass. when I called to the desk, they didn’t really do anything about it. didn’t even offer me a Band-Aid till I asked. And they told me that because they had already “compensated” me for the parking situation (which I have just explained, they DID NOT. I ended up spending more money than I would have after this endeavor even with the destination amenity fee waived) But they still had a guest step on a broken shard of glass in a 4 star hotel…. And the assistant manager Yani Aw told me that because they had already “compensated” me for the parking situation (which I have just explained, you DID NOT. I ended up spending more money than I would have after this endeavor even with the destination amenity fee waived). Again, I’m recapping this for you because when I came to the lobby to check out Sunday morning and tried to explain what happened, you clearly did not understand that the “compensation” I received in regards to the parking situation didn't even break me even. I ended up spending MORE money than I would have if you guys had just parked my car like I was told on the phone and how its listed on the website.
My foot still hurts.
All the assistant manager was offer a $50 credit towards our meals. Told her its not enough so she bumped it up to $100. NOT worth $300 a night to step on a broken shard of glass.
Regardless of whatever inspection your cleaning team did, they had more than ample time to make sure that that piece of glass was not in that room and had ample time to make sure that nobody stepped on it. But again, I stepped on a broken piece of glass in the Thompson Denver and have not been compensated properly for it. Wasn't offered a room change, upgrade, dining credits, nothing. Not even a bandaid. But again, I TRIED reaching out in good faith giving you the opportunity to do something more around this before I escalate the situation.
Again, I paid $300 per night at a 4 star hotel so that I could step on broken glass…. Definitely not what I paid for and absolutely not the expatiation we had...
Read moreWe stayed at the Thompson Hotel Denver on two separate occasions during our family trip to the U.S. in May and June 2025, traveling as a group of 10 including four children.
Our first stay (May 30–31) was pleasant and without issue. The front desk staff were welcoming, the check-in process was smooth, and the rooms were clean, well-designed, and comfortable; perfect for recovering from a long-haul flight. The location was also ideal for exploring the city. Overall, a good first impression.
However, our second stay (June 10–12), unfortunately, left a sour taste. After a 10-hour drive from Jackson, WY, we were informed via email while en route that only 2 of our 3 reserved rooms (booked months in advance) would be available. We immediately called the hotel to express that this was not acceptable given we were traveling with small children. Upon arrival, we were told that one of our rooms had been bumped and we would be relocated to the Grand Hyatt, which—while a reputable hotel—was clearly a downgrade in both experience and cost. We were told this happened because the hotel was overbooked and as we had booked through Tablet Hotels, our reservation was considered lower priority.
My wife and I chose to take the Grand Hyatt room so that the rest of the family, especially the kids, could stay together at the Thompson. While a room was made available to us at the Thompson the next day, the entire situation caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience during the final leg of our trip. Given the rate we paid (close to $500/night), we expected far better handling and transparency.
To make matters worse, checkout on June 12 at around 7 AM was handled poorly. We simply asked for a Statement of Account to review our charges, and the front desk staff member on duty was visibly irritated and dismissive. We settled the bill just to avoid further conflict—but upon reviewing the receipt, we realized we had been overcharged nearly $1,000. Had the staff member not been so unapproachable, this could have been addressed then and there.
It's unfortunate because this property has potential but the way our reservation was mishandled, the dismissive attitude toward third-party bookings, and the lack of proper service recovery from the front desk, made us feel that guests’ comfort and loyalty were not a priority.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at this aesthetically pleasing hotel, and overall, it was a pretty great experience. While I have come across more affordable accommodations offering similar treatment and services, there were still many aspects that made my stay enjoyable.
First, the hotel's ambiance and visual appeal were nice. The thoughtfully designed interiors and attention to detail created a delightful atmosphere. I found myself constantly appreciating the aesthetics and feeling at ease in the well-maintained surroundings. clean. The staff members were an absolute delight. Their warm and friendly demeanor made me feel welcomed and attended to throughout my stay. Their exceptional service added a personal touch, and I truly felt valued as a guest.
While complimentary food was not included during my stay, the quality of the food and drinks at the restaurant was good ( little to no Gluten Free options was not great). The hotel's culinary team deserves commendation for their efforts in delivering an enjoyable dining experience as they tried to make recommendations. The servers were nice and attentive. Tips / Gratuities are included in everything so I never had to think about doing that. Which is nice.
The valet service was efficient but expensive . The valet attendants were professional and made the parking process seamless. However, it's worth mentioning that the additional cost of $50-69 per night for valet parking was a bit steep. The hotel staff also mentioned a $22 fee for daily service ?
The only other drawback to my stay was that there was construction happening on the street, which affected my view. Unfortunately, no refunds or accommodations were offered to compensate for this inconvenience. It would have been appreciated if the hotel had taken some measures to mitigate the impact or provide a gesture of goodwill to affected guests.
Despite these minor setbacks, I must emphasize that my overall experience at this hotel was good. The combination of the aesthetically pleasing environment, friendly staff, delicious food, and cleanliness made my stay truly enjoyable. With a few improvements in communication and consideration for external factors like construction, this hotel has the potential to offer a better experience for its guests...
