Two of my girlfriends and I came in for lunch/brunch this past Sunday. Chop House has always been a favorite place of mine, but this was my first time trying their brunch. I love the atmosphere at the Denver Chop House! The music is very eclectic, the booths roomy and very comfortable. They were starting to put up their holiday decorations, which were very pretty and added a festive quality to the ambiance. Our waiter greeted us right away. I didn't catch his name but he was very pleasant and attentive.

My two friends opted for the lunch menu. It's nice that you can do either lunch or brunch and not stuck with brunch like most places do. They both ordered the Shaved Prime Rib sandwiches with choice of side. They asked for au jus, which he accommodated their special request. The sandwiches were HUGE and they couldn't stop commenting on how flavorful the meat was.

I started off with a cup of French Onion soup. I have always liked their version of that soup and this time did not disappoint. I then ordered a "flight" of Eggs Benedict. The brunch menu offered 3 types of Benedict, served with a side of potatoes. I loved that they offered the flight of Benedict (Small Plates menu) as it gave me the opportunity to try all three versions. When he brought it to the table the eggs were not runny. I asked for them to be redone which he did so immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. When he brought out the 2nd plate they were perfect! The first Benedict was shaved prime rib and asparagus with White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce. The prime rib flavors were to die or and my favorite of the three. The 2nd had avocado slices and roasted tomatoes, again with the White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce and lastly was a traditional Benedict with Canadian Bacon with White Cheddar Hollandaise sauce. I was very satisfied with the portion size and kept craving them when I got home.

The Denver Chop House is a great place! I would recommend it to locals as well as out of town visitors! Reservations are...

This review strictly relates to this restaurant's Fever dining experience called Dining in the Dark. It was on June 2nd at 8:30 pm that the event took place. We left from table 8 a few minutes before 10:00 pm not having received our food. The concept is supposed to be that you put on blindfolds and enjoy a lovely meal and figure out what you are tasting. The offerings were pre-picked from vegan, seafood, and read meat options. We did receive an appetizer, but one of us got other than we asked for. Not a biggie. The meat appetizer was skewered tenderloin. It was really nice. I don't know what genius thought the meat on a sharp stick makes for a great meal for blindfolded people though: you have a proper table setting with knives and forks in front of you, since you are blindfolded, it would make sense that if you can't look at your food, you don't expect it to contain a sharp skewer. But that I would have gotten over. The dining room contained 8 round tables. There did not seem to be enough servers. Again, you can't see anything, so it's hard to tell. A dude came by twice in the hour and a half of waiting time and said. " How are you doing folks? Living the life?" Then left. Just like that. Did not introduce himself, did not offer drinks tell a single word about this "experience", nor did asked if we needed anything.I bet he worked really hard and had too many tables and did not have the time. But that was the interaction from him all night. Meanwhile table 8 was the very last and by the time we left, most other tables were served. The two other participants at our table were also not having a good time. Here is the kicker: I ordered tickets for this event roughly 2-3 months ago. It was supposed to be special. It surely was special but for all the wrong reasons. It ended up being a night without dinner that just went from bad to worse. I do not recommend Dining in the Dark at the Chophouse to anyone and I am trying to get my money back from...

In the beginning we were seated early (Feb. 23, 2019) for our 6:00 reservation, front staff and waiter Bobby was friendly and attentive explaining certain menu items. Each course was fine up until the main one. We waited over an hour with no refill of water or wine and no explanation of what was taking so long. No "I will check on your food" and no sight of Bobby. All around us, people seated after us had received their food, had eaten it, had dessert and had their checks and LEFT. WE KEPT WAITING... I was about to go tell the manger when some server brought our food.... no apologies, no check your steak, NOTHING.

Later, Bobby came to the table and we said that it took too long. He blamed us and said that since we asked for them to be seared "Pittsburg style" that it took longer. He did not apologize. However, three of the four steaks were not even luke warm and these same three were TOUGH MEAT. Not the quality I was remembering from 2001 (the last time I was in Denver.) Last, Bobby never thanked us for coming. I think he got busy and wrote us off. When we walked out after paying.. the place was extremely crowded (it was restaurant week) and many people standing waiting for a table. There were many parties in the back rooms as well.

Suggestion: Do not blame the customer for things not right in the kitchen. Purchase better quality beef and train staff on "SERVICE" as well as making sure food is hot when delivered. HIRE ENOUGH STAFF. Our experience was well below an Outback Steakhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Texas Steakhouse, including the type of BEEF served. Was very dissappointed and it was my family's first and last time coming here. My son said the one at the DENVER AIRPORT was better. At least he has that memory from last year.

DISSATISFIED from...

If you’re in the mood for classic steakhouse excellence in Denver, Denver Chop House delivers in spades. From start to finish, the experience feels timeless, refined, and thoroughly satisfying. The ambiance is warm and elegant — rich wood tones, leather seating, soft lighting — it evokes a sense of tradition done right. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or a night out, it feels elevated without feeling stuffy. The menu leans into what they do best: prime cuts of beef, expertly cooked and beautifully presented. Every steak (from filet to ribeye) arrives juicy, seasoned well, and cooked precisely to your preference. Alongside the steaks, sides and accompaniments hold their own — think creamy mashed potatoes, crisp vegetables, and indulgent sauces that enhance without overpowering. The appetizers (like oysters, shrimp cocktail, or carpaccio) set a high bar. Don’t skip dessert — the classics (cheesecake, crème brûlée, chocolate cake) are executed with confidence. Service here is attentive and professional. Your server is knowledgeable about cuts, cooking levels, and wine pairings, and makes the experience flow smoothly from drink to appetizer to entrée. Wine and cocktail options are strong — a well-curated list that complements the meat-forward menu. All in all, Denver Chop House offers an outstanding steakhouse experience in the heart of the city. If you love great beef, classic sides, and a polished yet comfortable atmosphere, this is a go-to spot I’ll happily recommend.

Beautiful restaurant. Valet parking. The atmosphere was awesome!! The servers were super friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional, with really good flavors. From the mashed potatoes to the asparagus to the chicken. Tried 3 different drinks, and all were delicious...

Service was good. Attentive but not overly attentive. Didn’t explain anything on the menu for an establishment with a high price point. Wine list was short pickings. A lot of the bottles in the main doorway were all Napa but on the list were mostly Italian. Cornbread is their bread of choice. Came out on a skillet and was dense but also moist. You could taste the cooking oils or oils from the pan that was off putting. Spinach dip appetizer was full of spinach and fed a lot. Came with vegetables and naan. Nothing spectacular but good. Salmon was very good. The sides could use a revamp. Chunky potatoes could be swapped out for risotto or something more flavorful. Pork chop was borderline good. Demi glaze was what made it good. Can’t beat the pork chop at 801 Chophouse. Ribeye was the best thing. Being a steak place they did it to perfection. Perfectly cooked. Butter on top was delicious. Grade of steak seemed of top quality. Dessert was lack luster. Had the mango sorbet and key lime. Overall, would only go back for the steak (maybe just order out).
