I give this Hilton one star because of the parking situation. They offer valet for $49 per day, or $40 per day for onsite self parking. Not a single person used the on-site self parking while we were here for Labor Day. Street parking (on the street in front of hotel) is $1 per hour. Keep that in mind.
We arrived an hour early (2 PM) before check in time, to see if our room was ready and it was! It began raining very heavily and at this moment the valet guy wanted to unload our vehicle. I told him absolutely not and that I’d prefer my bags not be wet. We would return at 3 PM for checkin when the rains are over.
We returned at 3 PM and the valet guys were very pushy and insistent on parking and moving my rental car while I unloaded it. I told them they cannot touch my rental car as they are not on the agreement. I won’t take the risk of letting a valet guy cost me a bunch of money with my rental car. He didn’t seem to understand that.
I told him that $49 is very extreme. I paid $120 for my room and they want fifty bucks to park my car for me? Umm what?!?!! If I had accepted the valet for $49 per day, the total amount for my four night stay would be $200!!!
As soon as he realized I wouldn’t pay the overpriced parking, he asked me to move my vehicle, even though I was unloading it and moving our four luggage’s to the room, in two trips. He said it was okay and that he’d just move the car out of the way for me. I said NO WAY and made it very clear that Hilton will never touch my car keys. It was ridiculous he made me move my vehicle while unloading it. His excuse is that six other cars will pull up for valet at any moment.
I moved my car and unloaded it with two trips. Never saw another car pull up or arrive for valet. The entire parking lot was EMPTY. Valet guy made it seem very urgent I needed to relocate my vehicle out of his way (while unloading my things with my wife and one year old baby). There was no need for this urgency and I feel that Hilton needs to put their valet into check here.
Valet essentially doesn’t want any Hilton customers checking in on their own, they’d prefer you to valet your car or push you to the curb like garbage.
This Hilton does not care about your vehicle or parking or safety. We parked at the lot next door, across the highway, and it was $15 for overnight parking. Hilton’s parking prices are exorbitant and way above the market value of nearby parking. For four nights I saved $136 just parking literally across the street. Shame on Hilton. Shame on being greedy!!! Hilton parking is above market price, which is wrong for Hilton’s customers.
This is a huge disservice to Hilton customers and honor members such as myself. Hilton should offer discounted parking prices for their customers. It should be cheaper to park here and safer, but instead, Hilton finds the opportunity to price gouge you, it’s customer.
We stay at Hiltons all over the world. We just stayed in a Hilton the night before, on the other side of downtown in Denver. We paid $30 to park overnight at a public lot. Hilton still wants $20 more for their parking, which I think is unacceptable and is a great way for Hilton to screw their customers. I should be saving money parking here, not getting ripped off. This is why I gave one star.
The room is excellent and the front desk lady was super friendly and wonderful. It’s a shame that valet and parking drag this place down.
Pros: room, price, location Cons: price gouging parking
Pro tip: if you don’t need a car in Denver, fly into the airport and take the train to union station and stay here, it’s great, but if you have a vehicle don’t waste your time here.
I cannot recommend this to family or friends, simply because of price gouging here, and the complete lack of safety. I will file a formal complaint with Hilton over...
Read moreAwesome experience! It's been a long time since I've been able to give a Hilton hotel 5 stars! I would definitely stay here again and I'm very happy we chose to stay here! Our check-in was a bit bumpy. You aren't able to park your own car in their parking garage, only the vallets can do that. Vallet parking is $38 per night if you park overnight. We pulled up and got greeted right away by a vallet, and we said we needed a roller cart because of all the stuff we had. The vallet, his name was Tommy, said he would need to go find one, so we waited. We waited about 20 minutes, and then 2 cars pulled up behind us and ended up walking inside to the desk and then were able to get parked before us. I got a little upset because the other vallets did see us but never asked if we had been taken care of. But, we finally got things handled. Tommy took very good care of us, and so did one of the other vallet guys. Tommy never found the roller cart, so he helped us take our things up to our room, which was very nice of him! Our digital key in the Hilton app didn't work, so we ended up having to get card keys from the front desk. We finally got up to our room, and I was very happy with it! Although it was a narrow room, we had a very nice view and everything was clean and orderly. The room was very quiet, but be aware that the big trains come through that area and our room faced west so you will hear them. Traffic on 20th could also be a bit loud when loud vehicles drove by, but neither of those things was horrible and would not stop me from staying in the same room again. I absolutely loved the bathroom! Not every Hilton hotel has the walk-in shower, but this one did, thank goodness! We usually get stuck with the small tub/shower and the stupid cloth shower curtain! But I absolutely loved the bathroom/ shower! The shower had a light above it, so you could actually see what you were doing! Normally, the tub/shower area isn't lit very well. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. The first night, after checking in, we went downstairs to eat at Woodie Fisher's. Great place to eat. We enjoyed the ambiance very much! The service was excellent and the food was very good! The restaurant is attached to the hotel too, so you don't need to go outside to access it. Tommy, our vallet guy, took great care of us again on Saturday night when we came back from the St. Paddy's day parade. And upon checkout on Sunday, Danibel also took great care of us and ended up not charging us for parking because of the problems we had on Friday night! That was so awesome and nice of her to do! Overall, it's definitely one of the best stays we've had at a Hilton in a very long time! I do recommend staying here. We will definitely be...
Read moreFirst off, I wanna give a big shout out to Adam at the front desk; there was some confusion when I originally booked my room and then had to extend my stay and add occupants, and he took the time to make sure everything was straightened out in their system. He also helped me get my Hilton membership login figured out so I would get my points and free WiFi. Hugely thankful that he took the time to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. I do wish that hotels in general (not just this one) would be more transparent about their parking fees and whether there are alternative options; $50/night for mandatory valet is highway robbery. The valets were all super cool and attentive, but the text feature to call for our vehicle only worked about 25% of the time, causing us to be late for a couple of our reservations. The room was great; awesome view of the Rockies Stadium and big windows, and the beds were comfortable. Only constructive feedback would be to add a lock to the bathroom door and provide robes for the pool. We also really enjoyed the pool and gym. While the pool was very shallow, the onsite showers were a nice feature. While the gym was small, there was a good ratio of weight/resistance machines to treadmills and cardio equipment. Often hotel gyms are light on weights and just have an endless line of empty treadmills, so this was much better than I’ve seen elsewhere. Also wish that the hotel was more transparent about its breakfast; it advertised hot breakfast but then we found it was an extra $18 per person, so we went elsewhere. Overall we were very happy with the room, staff and amenities. I heard there may be legislation to force hotels to start including all their extra charges in their posted rates, because this hotel was maybe the most egregious I’ve seen with all the sneaky extra charges that increased the actual rate by a good 30%. If there are no realistic parking alternatives, the parking really should be included in the rate. Breakfast also should be advertised more transparently so that we could see that it was going to be an extra $80/day if we wanted to take advantage of the hotel breakfast. But again, the staff (especially Adam) made our stay extremely pleasant and we’ll most likely be back; just with a better idea of what we’ll actually be paying...
