I’ve been to Flight Club twice now, and while the atmosphere and concept are great, the overall experience—especially with booking and service—has left me really disappointed.
For my husband’s birthday, we wanted to book a 2-hour lane for about 11 people. Since the standard reservation time is 90 minutes, I reached out to the company directly. I was told the only way to extend the time was to book a “private event,” which required signing a contract with a non-refundable deposit and a minimum spend of around $300 on drinks (after already purchasing food). After several back-and-forth emails, I made it clear we just wanted a 2-hour reservation, planned to order a few food items, and have everyone pay for their own drinks. I was finally told that could only be done through the regular online system—and that we could ask to extend the time once we arrived. That would’ve been nice to know from the beginning instead of wasting time going in circles.
Both times I’ve booked, my reservation date was accidentally switched to the day of booking, forcing me to call and fix it—again, not ideal. Later, when our group size dropped from 11 to 9, I emailed to update it. I received a confirmation email but no mention of the refund for the two canceled guests ($17/person). When I followed up, I just got another automated email saying a refund had been initiated—no human response, no clear communication.
The first time we visited, we made the mistake of ordering cocktails. At ~$16 each, my gin drink came in a 10oz coupe glass that was less than half full of actual liquid—the rest was frothy egg white. I even waited several minutes for it to settle, but it never did. This time, we knew better and skipped cocktails. However, the server brought my husband a “birthday drink” (also gin-based) and didn’t even know what it was—again, mostly foam.
When we first arrived, I told our server that everyone would be on separate tickets for drinks. She seemed frustrated and said she’d “have to get everyone’s cards,” even though most point-of-sale systems can easily split checks by seat or item (I’ve worked in the service industry for over 20 years). In the end, I just made sure to take care of my husband’s and my own drinks—but I was never given an itemized receipt, even after asking. Even after I had hit printed on the hand held device.
It’s now been four days, and after multiple emails asking for an itemized receipt (there’s an unexplained extra charge on my card), I still haven’t heard anything back. At this point, writing this review and calling them directly is my next step.
Flight Club truly has a fun, social vibe and a unique concept—but for the price, the poor communication, lack of transparency, and inconsistent service really bring down the experience. Between the overpriced cocktails, confusing booking process, and sketchy billing (including a mysterious $50 “service fee” that “sometimes” goes to staff tips), I don’t know that I can say this visit was worth it.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this place could be fantastic with some improvements in communication, transparency, and...
Read moreThis was my first time going to a Flight Club. The reservation process was easy. The website does give off this idea that it can be packed, so it is best to reserve based on the number in your party. Like any other place, having a reservation is nice. However, if anyone in your party does not show up the day of you cannot be refunded the half up front per person upon booking. The staff stated that there are, "two separate systems between food and the reservations" and that is the reason there are no refunds for anyone who does not show up. Which is odd because, you have to pay for the other half of your reservation when you arrive on that same "food system" that doesn't have anything to do with the other. The only reason this was an issue for me is because changes can only be made when you call. I called, for example, on the Sunday prior to my reservation and no one answered and changes cannot be made on the website. Just make sure you are solid on your reservation because it may be complicated to make necessary changes once you have paid for your reservation.
The manager (through the server) did offer to "give us" a military discount which is offered to all EMS and Military (so really nothing pertaining to the reservation and the lack of being able to change the number in the party prior to it). The server also offered to "find a dog off the street to bring in, that we (the people in the party) could pet" for all of our military service and sacrifices. Maybe she was filling in the blank before asking us for our drink order. Secondly, it was hot. I kept asking for napkins to wipe the sweat off of me. To the point that another server took it upon herself to get a tall fan to blow the colder air towards our playing area. Mind you, there wasn't a lot of people in there. It wasn't the "busy" that this place has the potential to have. There may have been an event happening near by on the same day. Point being, it wasn't crowded enough to have been that hot in there.
The food was ok, noting to write home about. The hummus was really good. The Lobster Corn elote was alright but I prefer my elote from a street vendor because you can't really "cordon blue" a staple like that without taking away its original essence. The atmosphere was great, I loved the decor and all the clocks. It really felt like a darts place should feel. The music was a little loud for casual conversation but the music was GREAT so it was just enough for everyone to enjoy the music and play. The replays on the machines were chef's kiss, it was unexpected but exciting and amazing. The bartender was off on the free hand top shelf pours because there was a significant difference between the first and the second shot.
Other than that, I would go back maybe order some different food, try the specialty drinks and skip the reservation. The couple of servers that we had the pleasure of helping up were all kind, courteous and went above and beyond being the solid...
Read moreWent to the bar 3/26/24 around 445pm. No one was at the bar. There was only one bartender with his coworkers on the side. The bartender was making drinks for the restaurant, as As expected, and very inattentive to me. I waited for about five minutes as he was literally right next to me making drinks for him to not look at me not say hi, not introduce himself and say if you wanna drink, let me know. He didn’t give me a menu. Nor did he even say where the menus were until I mentioned that I don’t have a menu ….when I proceeded to say well can I have a menu he pointed to foldable stacking menu next to me and I said well does it have food and he handed me another menu and walked away while I was asking questions that a woman next to the bar chimed in answering the questions for him ….((THERE Was literally NO ONEEEEE at the bar ) I asked about one of the House cocktail with mango and specifically asked about it to see how the mango flavor was acquired, and he explained it, and so having history in the service industry, I said, can you make me a mango margarita he told me no he couldn’t make one and then when I continued to question him, he changed his mind and said he could make one. Super weird and off putting from a customer stand point. He didn’t ask me to the liquor but started to find the products… I said, are you gonna ask me what liquor I want then he said well, margaritas are made with tequila ? That was his response (condensing tone …and there’s several types of tequila anejo maybe mezcal repasado blanco ….he should’ve asked!!! )then he said what would you like? I said what reposado do you guys have, he named a few reposado and I said do you have Don Julio? He said no I was looking at it, I think he saw my eye contact over to the shelf so he looked over and he said actually we do … I feel like when the shift started. He should’ve been aware of the liquor that he had in the inventory to give customers an accurate representation of the restaurant. ( at least that’s what i did as a server) I still tipped him 20% but would’ve tipped him way more because I understand the service industry… used to be a server while in med school and now I’m a doctor ….literally my first time and my last time ever going to that place he was terrible. I wasn’t rude. I didn’t complain and I was very quiet, but would never recommend this bar Or restaurant to anyone That likes being treated decently…. Also, there was another male coworker that was next to the edge of the bar near my seat and him in the male coworker were having a full-blown conversation for over 10 minutes a personal conversation at that and I felt sandwiched between two coworkers, hearing their full-blown personal conversation, which is a first for me as well, especially while they’re working… super weird because the bar was empty and they could’ve went anywhere else. I will say that he made a solid margarita. And hope that he gains...
