I have eaten at various Denver Snooze locations over the past decade. All in all, I would say the experiences have always been good - service and food. I am hosting some visitors from out of town, and thought Snooze would be a fun and new breakfast experience for them. I went to the Snooze website, and followed the instructions for making reservations. It indicates that for parties larger than 4, you must call the restaurant directly. From the Snooze website "We offer reservations for parties of up to 4; please call the restaurant directly to book a reservation for a larger party." It also says, " If your preferred reservation time is not available, you can still join our online waitlist on the day of your visit". So I called the Union Station restaurant directly, I spoke with an individual who indicated that they don't take reservations at all over the phone. That is not what is indicated on the website (per the aforementioned copied statement from the website). The first person with whom I spoke (who was polite), went ahead and made me a reservation for 6 on Saturday morning. I received a text confirmation, and I was elated to set the plans with my visitors, and looked forward to eating at Snooze at Union Station on Saturday morning with my guests. Then I received a phone call from the restaurant from another individual, that was not polite, at all. They indicated that they do not take reservations, and if we wanted to eat there, to just show up and wait. That was it. I don't go out of my way to write poor reviews. This "making reservations" debacle with Snooze cost me about 45 minutes of time (figuring out the incongruency from the website info, to calling and learning what the staff is telling me at the restaurant, to making plans with my group). The information on the website is confusing as compared to what the individuals at this location are saying. But overall, the person that contacted me about all of this was not helpful at all - he was curt and short. This experience is enough for me to cross Snooze off my list of places to eat and bring people in the future. I can understand things not always working out - but at least be cool about it to your patrons. Explain it. Maybe apologize for the inconvenience? I understand that the franchise has grown - and with that sometimes comes dilution of quality and customer service. I know Snooze will be okay - plenty of new comers will always be there. Truly kind of bummed about this. But, I am glad I'm able to address the issue at least with this review. And sorry to other Snooze locations that are likely doing just great - I am not lumping you in with...
Read moreI am from Texas and had never been to Snooze before so was excited to try something new and my first time was AMAZING! I had the Bella, Bella Benny and it was great! It was my first time having Eggs Benedict and the flavors they had paired with it were just so delicious. After leaving Denver I told my daughter I couldn’t wait to come back for my next visit. Well fast forward a few months and I am back to see my daughter and I want to come back to Snooze. I’m immediately disappointed because unfortunately they had removed the Bella, Bella Benny from the menu but I understand restaurants update their menus and that can happen. I decide on the eggs benedict with avocado and bacon and tomato but have the server remove the tomato. My meal comes out with everything removed. It’s only the toast and the egg? Like why would I even order avocado toast if I didn’t want avocado toast? But that’s not the event that brought on this review. It was my last visit. Again, I am in Denver to visit my daughter and she lives close to Union Station so Snooze is a close place for breakfast and they do have a variety of things to order, the staff has always been good and the atmosphere is always upbeat and fun, so I suggest we go back…again. I order the Rosemary biscuits and gravy with my eggs over medium. When my plate comes out my eggs were sooooo runny the whites were still runny. No where near close to over medium! I call the server over and show her the eggs and she offers to have them remade. I’m like great, I will eat my biscuits and gravy and hash browns. About 10 minutes pass and she brings out two eggs and man they were SOOO COOKED the edges were crispy and the yellow was looking hard boiled!! I give up on this place! How can you be a breakfast place and NOT KNOW HOW TO COOK AN EGG! ☹️ Three times I went back. No more. Will have to find a new place when I...
Read moreIf you're looking for "fine dining" ambience, this is not that. BUT, if you are looking for probably the best breakfast food you've ever tasted, you've come to the right place.
This place is worth the wait, but I strongly recommend checking in online before you physically get there, to reduce your wait time! We learned the hard way by coming one day and facing a 1.5 hr wait. We came back the next day after checking in on the way, and only had 30 minutes that time.
Their menu is so extensive it's overwhelming. I don't think you can really make a wrong choice here, but here's our journey:
My dish: Pancake Flight! (pictured) Left: I Want Sum’oa Cakes: Our buttermilk pancakes topped with homemade vanilla creme anglaise, caramel sauce and shortbread crumble. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and sprinkled with sticky coconut and powdered sugar.
Middle: Blueberry Danish Pancakes Buttermilk pancakes topped with blueberry coulis, sweet cream and almond streusel surrounding a center of lemony cream cheese filling
Right: Pancake of the Day: Bacon and jalapeno pancakes with cinnamon butter!
Sides: scrambled eggs, sausage
My husband's dish: OMG! French Toast (pictured) Brioche stuffed with mascarpone then griddled and topped with vanilla crème, salted caramel, fresh strawberries and toasted coconut. O. M. G.
Everything was delicious in it's own way. The Sum'oa pancakes were sweet and chocolaty. The Blueberry Danish was nicely tart but still sweet. The PotD was interesting... I was grateful the bacon and jalapeno weren't overwhelming!
I have to say though, if you only get one thing.... you have to get the OMG French Toast. That will ruin all other breakfasts for you. The "OMG" in the name is 10000000% deserved. It was my favorite breakfast dish in my...
