Pasaditas has been a great neighborhood favorite for many years but I can't help but give a 3 star review in hopes of pushing the owners to turn it back around. During covid they actually committed to providing the same quality, cheap, quick, and comforting food. I can't help but think they have lost their way. The other day the margaritas were literally watered down, and I don't mean weak, I mean they looked like a glass of water with some some margaritas poured into it. The prices have gone up, which isn't really an issue considering how cheap they have always been, but I've noticed they always push the cheaper option now. I take my older father their, and he always likes to ask "what to you suggest", without hesitation it's always ground beef over shredded. He isn't asking what do you suggest from a profit standpoint. It's a small place and can fill up fast, sitting outside is a crapshoot of whether or not you can even get a second drink before you've finished your food, when your almost done with your food before one of them have come outside and given you a second to call them over, it's almost too much just to get a watery margarita.
It sucks, this place used to be a really solid bang for your buck, to the point that paying more is a non issue. But it's gotten to the point that the idea of going somewhere nearby like Las Delicious that at least has consistency is worth the small price increase. Hopefully it's just a phase because I've always considered Pasaditas a small island of sunshine...
Read moreI'll give it two stars. The waiter didn't seem thrilled when I walked it around 7pm. Granted it was a cold snowy night but there was plenty of others already dining. I chose to seat myself because I didn't get a verbal welcome from the staff or any direction to wait to be seated or anything. For them being Latinos, the food was just okay. I'm guessing with this restaurant being in uptown, it's frequented by other ethnicities that aren't keen on what Mexican/Spanish food really tastes like. The salsa is just ok. Nothing special about it. Has a mild heat to it. Not to keen on the flavor which was either nutmeg or clove In it or annato. It was also watery. My stuffed sopapilla was pretty bland. The only flavor came from the vege green chile it was smothered in. That was mostly pepper flavor and had a md to medium heat. The sopapilla itself barely had any flavor and the chicken inside and other ingredients were otherwise unseasoned or very little as I didn't taste much. I was excited to give this place a try but won't give them a second chance first and foremost because of the rude near non existent service. I am just glad they are extremely cheap. My meal was just under $9. They have that going for...
Read moreYou might have guessed that my wife chose this one. Yep. We are from San Diego and this place is a taste from authentic Mexican cuisine. We ordered the fajitas again and it is so good! I would come to this restaurant even if it was near home! Portions are great! One fajitas dish feeds both myself and my wife with some leftovers. The pricing is around 10-20 for a dish but the portion is right, not to mention the awesome quality of everything I've tasted. Parking is an issue. There's literally only two spots street parking for this place. I've consistently had to park across the street to run over there. Not a big deal, but bringing the kids may be a little scary across that busy street. I can't wait to go there on a date and have a margarita- they look really, really good. The to go pictures don't do justice, so I'll try to get pictures once we do dine-in. Last thing, it's a small restaurant, so maybe max of 5-6 people per table and maybe up to 30 people fit in the...
