Christian, the waiter, misunderstood my choice on my order. This was not his fault at all. We had a confusing conversation that included him going to his manager to ask if there was a discount on my entrée if I ordered my chimichanga a la cart. The manager said it was $2 so I ordered a beef and bean when I thought I had to order the plate I was going to order the shreaded beef. When my order came it was a beef a beef and bean plate. So it had rice and beans on the side. It was not what I ordered. I ordered the beef and beans chimichanga a la cart when i found out it was $2 less. If I had to order the plate and have beans on the side, I would have ordered an all beef chimichanga and paid the extra $2 for the meal. I told our waiter. He apologized, told me he had misunderstood and he would bring me and have the correct one made right away. I said you don't have to do that, bring another plate, I'll just eat this, you can take the rice and beans back and take the $2 off the bill since I didn't want the rice and bean. He didn't think he could do this and asked if he could go ask his manager. He came back and told me his manager told him no and to bring it back and they would cook a new one. I could tell he was new and trying so hard to be the best waiter possible. He was doing a great job!. It was the manager that wasn't and I asked to see him. The manager was totally out of line, he didn't seem to care at all when I asked, about wasting food when there are so many hungry people, including children, that can't afford food and this burrito would mean going to bed hungry or not that day. I asked him how he could happily throw this amazing food in the garbage over a $2 credit. His answer, "YES, THAT IS WHAT THE OWNER'S MAKES US DO BECAUSE THE TICKET HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTED AND IS IN THE COMPUTER PROGRAM. I CAN'T CHANGE THAT." I thought that was bullshit! So I debated this with him for a bit. I then explained I had met the owners numerous times because I had lived a block away for 11 years, 10 years ago. I had been a biweekly take-out customer and a frequent dine-in patron. This is when it was the authentic decorated restaurant, before the beautiful renovations, but I didn't believe the owners beliefs when their restaurant's appearance changed. They still had their beautiful soul filled with kindness and compassion. It is very clear this manager had none! I believe the owners and people they know have relatives that have went to bed hungry and feel horrible when food is required to be thrown away. I presume they do everything they can to stop it. Finally I toldthe manager, to be polite to my friend, (she had almost finished her tostados when I had only just dug into my sour creme,) "I'll just eat this and pay the extra $2, so you can't toss this into the garbage and waste it, plus have to wait to eat by myself. For the record, I believe you are lying." He just shrugged and turned his back. He didn't seem to care he was going to waste awesome food because he was not willing to comp $2 or offer a dessertfor it! He disgusted me! I think he is an irresponsible, uncaring human being, blaming the owners for their ordering software tabulations. He stated, "The owners are the one's that do not allow me to give you a $2.00 price reduction because the waiter put in the wrong order. Your ONLY CHOICE IS WE CAN MAKE YOU A NEW ONE. I didn't even think to ask what do I get comped for not getting to eat with at the same time as my friend especially since my order was so much...
Read moreIt’s such a shame, because we used to come here all the time, since we lived across the street. The service was never amazing, but at least we felt generally respected and welcomed, but all that has changed. I don’t know if the closing of Margs has made it worse since they now have the market cornered, but we will be going elsewhere for our taco needs. The first incident was when we went for dinner one night, and a waitress visibly had a problem with where I parked my mobility device. I had always parked it under the stairs of the restaurant with no problem, but then for some reason they added additional tables that made that not an option. Since I wasn’t told otherwise, I parked my scooter by our table. Since the restaurant was mostly empty, I didn’t think this would be an issue. Our waitress, who acted generally like we were bothering her, and didn’t know the menu, looked at my scooter with disgust, then looked over our heads and rolled her eyes at the hostess. Now I am happy to move my scooter if it is in the way, but I need to be given that direction, not just passive aggressively made to feel I am a nuisance. Shortly after, the hostess came over and asked me to move it, because clearly it was too much for the waitress to have an adult conversation with a customer. After that the meal was ruined. The only time I have gone back after that was for a friend’s going away happy hour where my friend had made a reservation ahead of time. Well after 30-40 people had showed up, we were told that we had to either sit at one table or leave since they had a reservation at 6. During this time I waited about 30 minutes for my tab for one drink and a happy hour quesadilla, while I saw the wait staff standing by the cash register, watching us with disdain. My friend got so upset by the way we were treated, she left her own celebration and the rest of the party moved to Pride and Swagger, and Tap 14 (where you actually will be treated with dignity and respect). It’s very clear this place decides who they want to serve, and they don’t care about anyone else’s business. It’s so sad we keep losing places in Uptown and those that remain, don’t value local business. Go...
Read moreThis is the second time i have been to this location. I have attended the other locations,But this week past will be the last time at this place. I had another horrible server, non informant that would not tell you things ahead of pricing, and then there seems to be a rush to harass customers and not read there tables this is the second time and last time. No respect for sitting at table to allow you to read or be in a quiet space. There is never enough people there in the restaurant, this week maybe 16 people in all and there always seems to be a rush as though you were at Grand central station, or there are too many visits to the table constantly sad. There usually is a women manger there in the past ,and she was kool, yet this time there was an older man there, and he had a serious attitude? Which led to me asking the server the same one that took over 10 minutes to come out and greet my table, and i had to get up and get him and the manger. What sparked me is that i asked the server for breakfast burrito, and it was a approved, yet when i asked him to deep fry it making it a chimichunga, this was not told to me that it had a double up charge and it was told to me? When i have gone to the other locations, it is not a problem nor an issue. so when the bill came out i had a fit telling the server who did not do his job well, at all received who did not receive a tip and when the manager came out it ended with a Hugh spat over the negligence of his staff, and a manager that was fighting with me over a non communications and failings of the server to relay pertinent information, and a manager that seems to have failings in loving to love to fight back with customers in an empty restaurant! i can only imagine how many other people have experienced issues in this place and some of the same things. i went through on the only and last visits i will ever make in this place! it is sad because i live in, centennial and yet service is mostly great, yet on Capital hill, and parts of Denver bad ethics in some of these places you spend your hard earned money failure! This location is dead to me now and will remain as such, think twice...
